Happy October – Home Decorating Ideas:
Now that October has arrived, it’s time to cozy up our homes…
A couple years ago, I decorated with neutrals for the fall season. Usually, during this time of year, I like to keep my decor simple. After all, I do tend to go a little crazy with color and accessories during the holiday season.
Freshen up your coffee table for the fall season…
To keep your fall decorating simple, choose one small space (like a coffee table) to decorate. For some ideas, read – Fall Coffee Table Ideas (Easy and Stylish).
Happy October – Halloween Decorating Ideas:
If you’re planning any Halloween dinner parties, here’s a tablescape to inspire you…
With black and white accessories and some silly pumpkins, this table setting is kind of cute and kind of scary….perfect for kids or adults!
Simple Ghost DIY Projects for October:
If you’re feeling creative this October, grab a few craft supplies and make some super-simple ghost decorations!…
Last year, I shared some DIY ghost decorations that were embarrassingly easy…like this Pottery Barn look-a-like!
Happy October – Books:
During this cozy month, curl up with good book…
Throughout the year, I like to share the books I’m reading. Recently, I finished Malibu Rising and loved it. Sure, it’s probably more of beach read than a “curl up with with a book by the fire read”, but I still recommend it! This author, Taylor Jenkins Reid is probably most known for writing the popular Daisy Jones & The Six (on my list too) and The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, which I read earlier this year…and really enjoyed!
Anyway, Malibu Rising follows the life of four famous siblings, their family secrets and how they dealt with being abandoned by their very famous father. The family drama culminates during the annual end of summer party at the Malibu beach house. (Which, as a home decor enthusiast, I cringed at the way the party guests disrespected the home!) That night, all the characters reach a tipping point where secrets are spilled and decisions are made. Such a fun and wild ride through California in the 1980s!
Happy October – Comfort Food Season:
Welcome October (National Chili Month) with a cozy family favorite recipe…
If you’re looking for a simple version for classic chili, here is our family’s favorite chili recipe!
Happy October Finds:
If you’re decorating for fall, you can’t go wrong with a trip to Target…
This year, Target’s Hearth and Hand with Magnolia line has some really cute and inexpensive items for fall. Recently, I picked up this adorable scalloped spoon rest… Besides being perfect for a spoon, it would also be great to use for loose change, jewelry or even a bar of soap.
On that same trip to Target, I spotted this lovely golden leaf arrangement. Between the golden leaves and the brown glass vase, it’s the perfect fall accessory.
Since I decorated with blue and white for early fall, these plaid pillows were a great addition to my dining room. In case you missed my fall tour, you can see it here – Blue and White Fall Decorating Ideas.
Happy October – More Shopping Ideas:
Recently, these fall finds caught my eye…
When decorating you’re front door for fall, tray a hanging basket instead of a wreath this year. With the leather straps, this one is giving off equestrian vibes. So pretty! (Greenery sold separately).
Although, if you are looking for an October wreath, this one is festive and beautiful! (and currently on sale!)
This year, glass pumpkins are very popular! I’m loving these pumpkins which come in several sizes (and are selling fast!)
