Decorating an Easter Table (Tips & Tablescape Ideas)
Hello friends! Now that spring has arrived, many of us are starting to plan for Easter. After all, it will be here before we know it. To give you some Easter table inspiration, I’m sharing some tips along with table settings from previous years. So, if you’ll be decorating an Easter table this year, I hope some of my ideas inspire you!

Tips for Decorating an Easter Table:
Style your table with cute napkin rings…
To add a simple Easter touch to your table setting, dress up your napkins with bunny ears. Last year, I bought these exact napkin rings and I love their simplicity and the touch of whimsy they add to the table. If you don’t want to go crazy with Easter decorations on your table, just add these to any spring table and you’re done. For a similar look, these are very cute and these are a great neutral option.
Or make your own napkin rings…
When I was decorating an Easter table with a pink theme, I wanted to add a little bit of pattern for interest. So, I cut up some toilet paper rolls, wrapped a piece of wired burlap around them and then covered the burlap with a strip of patterned ribbon. For such an easy DIY, I liked the way they turned out. Plus, the floral pattern pulled in all the colors from the table. From there, I rolled up a napkin and slid a tulip into the napkin ring. That day, I happened to have fresh tulips but faux tulips would actually be more practical.
As you can see, the table was very springy and perfect for an Easter brunch. Just by removing the bunnies and the Easter eggs, this table setting would also be nice for Mother’s Day.
Fold a napkin into bunny ears…
Every year when I’m searching for creative ideas, I see variations of this napkin fold all over Pinterest. This year, I created my own version with a white cotton napkin, some twine and an artificial egg (real ones are too expensive – ha!).
Super-easy instructions for the bunny napkin fold:
- Fold the napkin into a triangle.
- Roll from the short end.
- When finished, bend the rolled napkin and place the egg in the hole.
- Tie twine or ribbon to hold in place.
- Shape the “ears” to look like bunny ears.
Tie a ribbon around a napkin and flower…
Yes, here’s another ridiculously easy way to dress up a place setting. Once again, a faux tulip is probably more practical then a real tulip…unless you have those little water tubes to stick on the end of stems. In that case, use a fresh tulip and your guests can take it home!
For this Easter table setting, I went with another very springy color palette of pink, green and some blue. To see more of this table setting, along with another variation of it, read – Spring Tulips on a Colorful Easter Table.
More Ideas for Decorating and Easter Table:
Display your Easter bunnies…
To be creative (and save money) sometimes it makes sense to reuse decorations in a different way. One year, I decorated my mantel with an Easter bunny banner. The following year, I slid the individual flags off the banner and set them on each place setting for my Easter table. I loved the way the bunnies dressed up each place setting and added to the pink and green color scheme. Apparently, I enjoy using those colors for my Easter tables!
Speaking of pink and green, here are those pink gingham napkins again along with my green cabbage ware plates…and a ceramic bunny napkin holder.
To tone down all the color on this Easter table, I decorated with my burlap runner and some neutral seagrass placemats. I think the neutrals helped the green plates stand out as focal points.
Show off your Easter eggs…
If you don’t want to go with a traditional Easter basket, display your Easter eggs in another container. This ceramic bunny is actually an outdoor planter but I thought it was a cute way to hold eggs. If you want to go with a more rustic version, I’ve seen some stone ones like this rabbit planter.
Or use decorative nests on your table. I think I found mine at Michaels but these nests are similar.
Since eggs prices are so high, consider some other ways to decorate with faux eggs this Easter. For instance, I think these eggs are a cute idea!
Decorating an Easter Table – Centerpiece Ideas:
Create a simple centerpiece from grocery store tulips…
Since fresh tulips are so inexpensive, buy a couple bunches and place them in a simple white pitcher. They look great as an Easter centerpiece or on any table for spring. Supposedly, you can put a penny in the water to extend their life a bit…so I’ve heard.
Here’s another view of that Easter table setting. (Yes, it’s the same table with the homemade napkin rings mentioned earlier in the blog post.)
Keep it simple with artificial flowers in a vase…
If you’re hosting Easter dinner and you’d rather not deal with fresh flowers, go faux. When I decorated my dining room, I used classic Easter decorations on my table and throughout the room. Well, I guess cherry blossoms are more early spring than Easter but they’re pink and they coordinated with my color scheme.
On my bar cart, I added some faux tulips and other artificial flowers. For more ideas to decorate with faux flowers, read – Spring Faux Florals and Greenery.
Use a decorative bunny for your centerpiece…
And if you decide to forego flowers altogether, style your table with a decorative bunny centerpiece. Originally from Homegoods, I use this guy in different spots in my home every spring. Unfortunately, I can’t find anything similar online but this rabbit is really cute and here are some similar items.
Hopefully, my tips and examples gave you some helpful ideas for decorating an Easter table!
