Easy Way to Decorate a Rustic Farmhouse Christmas Mantel

How is your Christmas decorating coming along?  If you’re ready to update your mantel for the holidays, take a look at how I used a wooden sign to inspire our rustic farmhouse Christmas mantel!  

When I woke up this morning, I got the bright idea to change the Christmas decor on my mantel…

Before today, the mantel consisted of my usual black and white photo grouping with a few Christmas additions.  You can see it in the background here…

Kind of plain, but totally fine…

Suddenly today, I felt like trying something new so I pulled out the Snow Day artwork that I recently bought at Michael’s Craft Store.  Originally, I had planned to bring this to our place in Vermont next time we go up.

But it works in here for Christmas too!  It kind of brings a fun, festive vibe to the family room.

I also brought in my skiing Santa that I used on my kitchen stove mantel last year.  Since my boys are really into skiing, the artwork and the Santa made sense in here.  Let’s see how they like the new look when they get home from school.

Although, I am not thrilled with how the silver stocking hangers look in the mix, I think I will keep the mantel like this through Christmas.
