How to Welcome Fall to Your Home (Simple Ideas to Try!)

Happy Fall everyone!  Of course, it would be a lot easier to welcome fall if it wasn’t so hot here in New Jersey!  Lately, the temps have been up in the 90’s so I haven’t dared to put a pumpkin outside to rot in the sun…  In fact, I haven’t done too much decorating for fall yet.  So today, I will share some of my ideas of how I have celebrated fall in the past.  Hopefully, I will give you some inspiration of ways you can welcome fall to your home!

How to Welcome Fall to Your Home:

Well, I guess the best place to start welcoming fall is right at the entrance to your home!

Fall Porch Decor – The Colors of the Season

Each year, I like to welcome the new season with a new wreath or door hanging.  From there, I choose my colors and accessories (like this cute doormat) for the rest of the porch.

Almost every year, I decorate for fall with mums – which the deer love to eat!  Luckily, over the past few years I have learned to spray the mums with a stinky deer repellent which really works well.  Don’t worry, it only smells bad while it’s wet!  Before long, the crisp air of fall will be the only thing you notice when you step outside.

Decorate Your Foyer for the Fall Season:

Besides the front door, the foyer is the next important spot to add some fall cheer.  What better place to welcome fall?  In our foyer, I like to update our console table each season.  Just a few fall decorations can carry you into the colder months.

Decorate Your Mantel for Fall:

Usually, I keep my mantel decorated simply but fall is the perfect time to pull out some seasonal accessories and make it extra festive!  After all, who can resist white pumpkins for fall?

Speaking of white pumpkins…

Set a Festive Fall Table:

Since I love decorating with white pumpkins, I designed a table setting around them.  From there, I continued decorating with the white pumpkins around my kitchen.  Although I normally use more color in my fall decor, I was thrilled with the way my kitchen looked that year!  Sometimes, neutral decor is the way to go!

  1. Such a pretty table setting! I have decorated a bit for fall but do think it’s a bit crazy that it’s still in the mid- 80’s here…. so no mums, pumpkins or anything that will die in the hot sun.

    1. Thank you! Yes, these temperatures make it hard to decorate for fall! Hopefully, it will cool down this week!

  2. Living in Florida, we never really experience the beautiful Fall weather you will see soon, but as soon as I started seeing all the Fall decor hit stores, I immediately put out the stuff on my tiny porch. Makes it cheery, and so wonderful to come home to. Lots of other great inspiration here! Best wishes 🙂
