We All Love A Good House Tour! – Saturday Spotlight
Happy weekend and welcome to the Saturday Spotlight! Are you planning to attend any house tours this spring or summer? Usually by this time of year, I’ve already purchased tickets for a designer showhouse or some kind of neighborhood home tour. Unfortunately, there aren’t as many this year but I’m still keeping my eyes open. So if you’re like me and love a good house tour, I’ve got plenty of inspiration for you today!

Decorating Inspiration – Blogger House Tour:
Obviously, one of the easiest ways to take a house tour is through a home decor blog. Many bloggers update their home tours each season so there’s always something fresh and inspiring to see…
How to Decorate and Entry Table ( Spring into Summer Ideas)
Just this week, I participated in a Spring into Summer Home Tour hosted by Kristi of French Creek Farmhouse. On the tour, 29 home decor bloggers shared different areas of their homes. Included on the tour were outdoor living areas, entryways and foyers, fireplace mantels, tablescapes, living rooms, recipes and crafts. For my contribution, I shared my entry table decorating ideas in the foyer.
House Tour Inspiration from Designer Showhouses:
Ah, yes…the designer showhouse. Those of us who love home decor live for these events. I’m always searching for designer house tours near me but most of the time I end up having to travel a bit. For instance, a few years ago we made a mid week trip out to the Hamptons to tour the Hampton Designer Showhouse. With designers like Barclay Butera (photo below), it was definitely worth the 3 hour drive!
Hampton Designer Showhouse – Interior Spaces
Although, I missed visiting the most recent 2021 Hampton Designer Showhouse, I did come across this awesome video narrated by the designers themselves! It’s almost as good as being there!
Several times in the past, I’ve attended the Mansion in May Designer Showhouse in New Jersey. Due to the pandemic, they postponed last year’s Mansion and May and turned it into a Splendor in September. For some reason, I only shared photos on my Instagram feed so I really need to write a blog post. Here is a photo of a stunning bathroom on that house tour!
Yeah, that bathroom was pretty special! Normally, I wouldn’t think to paint my bathroom walls black but this master bath could change my mind!
Speaking of black, how about a black fireplace from a previous Mansion in May designer house tour…

House Tour Inspiration from Coffee Table Books:
Are you as obsessed with coffee table books as I am? Every birthday and Christmas I have at least one on my list.
One of my favorites is Timeless by Patrick Ahearn. Basically, I love every single thing he does. Many of his homes are located on Martha’s Vineyard and I spotted a few on a trip there…

I have never been on a house tour – they aren’t a thing here in New Zealand. I do mine virtually. I saw another blog post about this a couple of days ago – I’m so intrigued.
They’re really so much fun to attend – although virtual house tours are great too!
