Winter Vibes Decor (& Tips to Get Through the Season)
Hello friends and welcome to the Saturday Spotlight! Each week, I like to highlight a different home related theme or topic to inspire you. Well, ever since that groundhog saw his shadow, the weather in the northeast has been as wintery as winter can be! As much as I’d love to skip right to spring, I’m trying to embrace the season as much as I can. Today, I’m sharing some winter vibes decor along with tips to get through the rest of the season!

Winter Vibes Decor:
Get winter decorating ideas from store displays…
If you’re like me, you love seeing how Pottery Barn styles their merchandise. Even if you don’t plan on buying anything, you can pick up simple decorating tips from their displays. For instance, in the vignette below, they layered various green and neutral throw pillows with a cozy green fluffy throw blanket. They repeated the greens with faux stems and a velvet ottoman.
For just a touch of winter decor, they hung black and white snow themed photos above the sectional. Then to tie in the black from the photos, they added one black pillow and a two toned coffee table. Such a cozy display that bridges together the winter and spring season!
Keep your decor simple with winter whites…
After putting away all your Christmas decorations, you might need a break from all the colors. For some simple winter white ideas, read – Winter White Decorating Ideas.
More Winter Vibes and Ways to Embrace the Season:
Grab a warm blanket and relax with a great book…
Last month, I read, The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins and I highly recommend it! As a huge fan of her podcast, I basically devour anything Mel Robbins creates. In this book (just like in her podcasts), she has a way of taking you along on a self improvement journey with her. Through sharing personal stories and research, she teaches us how to stop wasting time and energy on things we can’t control. While the concept seems obvious, Mel Robbins has a knack for making you look at things in a different way. Since reading this book, I’ve become so much more aware of setting boundaries and focusing on what matters in life. Truly, a must read for anyone who wants to improve their outlook on life!
If you’re like me, you enjoy seeing what other people are reading. In the near future, I’ll do a round up of all the books I read in 2024. In the meantime, be sure to check out this one from Mel Robbins!
Light a fire in your fireplace…
As you’d probably agree, there’s nothing like a roaring fire on a cold winter night! (If you’ve been to Woodstock, Vermont, you might recognize this iconic fireplace from the Woodstock Inn!)
And if you don’t have a fireplace, light some candles and enjoy the ambiance!
Spend a cozy night at home with an online cooking class…
If you’re like me, you want to try something new…yet you prefer to stay home when it’s cold and dark out! This winter season, why not sign up for an online cooking class!
Embrace the winter with a trip to New England…
Many of you know that my family and I spend a lot of time in Vermont. Well, recently I took a girls trip to another New England state…Maine! While summer might be a more practical time to make a northern road trip, winter is a beautiful time to go!
Since we were visiting a friend in southern Maine, we had the chance to stop by charming seaside towns like Kennebunkport! Even though a few of the stores were closed during winter, we still had plenty of fun places to browse in. Yeah, we definitely needed places to warm up on a very cold winter day!
During the trip, we also visited the Stonewall Kitchen Company Store! What a treat that was! Believe me, I had to restrain myself from buying half the store!
Shopping Ideas – Winter Vibes Decor:
Get through the rest of the winter season with these shopping finds…
Since February is National Heart Month, celebrate with a pretty heart candle. Besides Valentine’s Day, this would also be great for an anniversary or even Mother’s Day!
Apparently, February is also National Embroidery Month so here are some cute cherry napkins to celebrate! Plus, they also capture two popular trends – cherries and scallops!
If you’re looking for cozy and classic rugs, here’s one from the Galey Alix collection! Not only are her designs beautiful but they’re relatively inexpensive!
Or to just add a bit of texture to your home, these faux sheepskin rugs look great hung over a chair or in a small space!
To display a winter arrangement or plan your spring one, this is the perfect vase! Besides it’s classic texture and shape, it also comes in 3 sizes!
