Happy Valentine’s Day! Even though many of us will be spending Valentine’s Day at home this year, that’s no excuse not to celebrate. In fact, this year we should probably make more of an effort to show our loved ones how we feel!
So, if you wished you had planned ahead a little more, don’t worry I have you covered. Here are a few last minute Valentine’s Day ideas you can use.

Last minute Valentine’s Day Ideas:
Decorate for Dinner:
Since most of us will be celebrating at home this year, find a cozy spot to enjoy dinner together! If you don’t have time to create a whole Valentine’s Day themed table, just light a bunch of candles and be done! For those of you looking for more decorative options, check out my two ways to set a Valentine’s Day table for two.
Creative Gift Idea:
Do you wish you bought more than a card and that heart shaped box of chocolates? How about you sign up for an online cooking class to take with your significant other. Even though most cooking classes will be sold out for Valentine’s Day, you can still sign up for a future class.
Simply print out the receipt, roll it up, tie a ribbon around it and you have an instant Valentine’s Day gift! Sur La Table offers a huge selection of online cooking classes and Williams Sonoma offers Baking School classes where you can sign up individual classes or a whole series. Definitely check those out if your Valentine likes to cook!
Celebrate at Home with a New Recipe:
Try a new recipe that your Valentine will love. Last week, I finally took my air fryer out of the box and tried a couple recipes. For my first attempt, I used this air fryer buffalo chicken wing recipe and it was a big hit! After all, it only seemed appropriate to start with buffalo chicken wings while my guys watched the big football game! Later in the week, I tried making some brussels sprouts in the air fryer too. Unfortunately, that recipe wasn’t very good so I’ll keep that one to myself.
Celebrate Valentine’s Day at Home with a Movie:
Make a list of a few romantic movies you’d like to see and let your Valentine choose one. Then make some popcorn, grab a glass of wine and enjoy a quiet evening in front of the TV. Sure, you’ve probably binge watched every series available on Netflix this past year but have you watched any movies with your spouse?
Here are a few more simple ideas you can do last minute:
- Go for a walk. – We all need to get out of our homes these days!
- Take a drive. – If it snowed in your area recently, you can enjoy some beautiful winter scenery.
- Try mixing up some fun cocktails and have your own happy hour. This cocktail looks delicious – and pretty! Or check out these 5 delicious Valentine’s cocktails!
Hopefully, my last minute ideas will help you enjoy Valentine’s Day at home this year!
