Spring Door Decor:

Since first impressions are important, why not freshen up your front door and porch for guests this spring?!

Here are some ideas for spring decorations…

Hang a container or basket of tulips on your front door…

When I decorated my spring front porch one year, I gathered some white tulips and hung them in a metal container.  Since my front door is black, the white tulips really stood out.  For the most part, I prefer to use artificial flowers on my front door but a container or live plants or flowers would be pretty for a special occasion.

If you’re looking for an easy way to add spring decorations to your front door, just hang a simple wreath.

Obviously, this time of year there are tons of options in the stores.  For great prices on spring wreaths, Homegoods always has a huge variety in the stores and online.

One year, I hung a dogwood wreath on my front door…partly because the way it stood out against the black.  Though since dogwoods bloom in the spring, it definitely made sense for the season as well.  Forsythia wreaths are also great for spring and add a nice pop of color to a black or neutral door.

This year, I went with more color with a vibrant pink tulip wreath!  Instead of decorating my whole porch for spring, I let the front door wreath be the star!

* Spring wreath tip:  If you don’t use your front door often, keep an eye out for nesting birds!  Over the years, we’ve lost a few spring wreaths to bird nests.  To avoid having that issue, maybe decorate with a spring sign or spring door hanger instead.

Interior Door Decor Ideas for Spring:

Consider adding some spring decorations to the inside of your front door…

Even through we don’t use our front door very often, we do walk through our foyer all the time.  For us, it makes sense to decorate the inside of our front door.  For the past few spring seasons, I’ve hung a basket filled with flowers like the one below.  Head over to my blog post to see the spring door basket details and how I coordinated the colors to my spring entryway.

When I decorated for Easter, I filled that same seagrass basket with white tulips and then dressed it up with a pink gingham napkin.  Once again, by decorating the inside of my front door, I was able to coordinate my spring decor with the rest of my foyer.

If you like to repurpose items to save money, you could reuse the door basket as wall decor or fill it with some faux flowers on a covered porch.  As with all natural fiber accessories, you need to be careful not to get them wet.

Shopping for Spring Door Decorations:

To put you in a spring shopping mood, here are some finds for your front door…

This spring, greet your guests with a warm welcome…and a front door wreath like this beauty! Such an elegant spring wreath, don’t you think?

If you’re decorating your front porch for spring, you can’t go wrong with a colorful tulip wreath! This one is perfect to use as an Easter wreath as well!

If you’re going to hang a spring wreath, then you’ll need a wreath hanger like this practical one (which obviously works best with a black door).

Celebrate the warmer weather with a spring door sign…like this cheerful welcome sign.  If you have a black door like mine, this door decoration would really stand out!
