Welcome friends! Well, March is here so if you’re looking for spring decorating ideas, you’ve come to the right place. Today, I’ve joined a group of talented bloggers for our 2023 Spring home tour hosted by our friend, Marty of A Stroll Thru Life.
Each day this week, several of us will be sharing our homes all decorated for spring! With 29 bloggers on the tour, there’s something for everyone…from traditional decor to farmhouse and everything in between. At the bottom of this blog post, you can see the full line up. Be sure to stop back each day so you don’t miss any. For my spring home tour, I’ll show you how I decorated with blue and white…and pops of pink!

Spring Home Tour 2023:
Before we begin, I want to welcome those of you who are arriving from Worthing Court. Wasn’t Suzy’s colorful breakfast nook gorgeous? She’s so talented!
When you’re finished here, please be sure to visit the links at the end of this post to see all the beautiful spring tours!
Now, let’s get started with my spring home tour!
Today, we’ll begin at the front door…
As you approach our front door, you’re greeted with a vibrant pink tulip wreath! To me, pink tulips are the perfect flower to welcome spring to your home. So, get ready because this won’t be the only pink you’ll see on my spring home tour! Of course, you’ll see lots of blue and white as well! Now, let’s step inside the foyer to continue the tour!…
Spring Home Tour 2023 – Front Entryway:
Flowers and Greenery:
Like most years, I kept my foyer table simple with some pink tulips and faux greenery. When decorating, I usually end up mixing real and artificial plants and flowers. That way, I can keep my vignettes looking fresh longer. After all, it’s easier to replace a few fresh flowers than a whole table full at once. Plus, the artificial versions are pretty nice these days.
To see some of my ideas for decorating with faux plants, read – How to Tastefully Decorate with Fake Plants.
Since we walk past our foyer table all day long, I like to keep freshened up each season…and cheerful looking for spring!
To coordinate with the pinks from the tulips, I hung a botanical wall hanging on the opposite wall. Originally, I was going to display my tulips in my blue and white porcelain vases but I felt they looked too busy near the wall hanging. Instead, I chose to keep the containers on the table more subtle to let the wall hanging stand out. If you want to see how I decorated with blue and white porcelain in a previous year, see this spring entry decor.
From here, you get a peek of our open concept family room and kitchen where we will head next…
Spring Home Tour 2023 – Blue and White in the Kitchen:
Decorating with plenty of blue and white…with pops of pink…
Last year, I used yellow as my accent color but pink has always been my favorite. In fact, when I got married almost 25 years ago, my bridesmaids wore navy blue and we all carried pink bouquets. So, I guess it’s true that we tend to decorate in the colors we wear!
So, in keeping with my color scheme, I brought out some of my blue and white pieces. Luckily, I didn’t have to switch out my curtain panels. I’ve had them in the kitchen for the past couple of years. Since, I had the striped tablecloth in my stash,I used that as a base for my simple spring tablescape.
Before, I go into detail on the table, I’ll show you the other side of the kitchen where I added some blue and white porcelain pieces. With just a few ginger jars, some blue willow dishes and some containers of pink flowers I had enough color to make my kitchen feel like spring.
Also, it doesn’t hurt that my kitchen faces south so I get plenty of light. Soon, it will be warm enough to open the windows and let in the spring breezes…I just love this time of year!
In case you’re wondering, the pink tulips are real. Since I want to keep my stove mantel decorated this way for the next couple of months, I’ll be switching those tulips to artificial ones. Actually, I ordered some but they haven’t arrived yet. Apparently, faux tulips are popular this time of year!
If you saw my recent tiered tray ideas, you got a peek at the stove mantel before I added the tulips. Since I used pink when decorating my tiered tray, I knew I wanted to add more to my kitchen for spring.
For my table centerpiece I also used pink tulips. In the distance, you can see that I haven’t decorated my mantel for spring yet. For me, decorating is sometimes a slow process and I haven’t been inspired to come up with anything in there yet. If you want to see some past spring mantel ideas, read my 2 ways to decorate a mantel for spring. If you’re a blue and white fan, you might enjoy seeing what I did that year!
exact faux cherry blossoms / similar tray
Instead of tulips, I added faux cherry blossoms to the round tray vignette on my island. After all, the real cherry blossoms will be blooming soon. So, of course they make a great flower for a spring home tour.
blue and white curtain panels / similar white chairs
From here, we will head over to see a few more splashes of pink on my console table.
Now, all these flowers are faux but I just can’t deal with too many real flowers to keep fresh.
For spring, I made some simple changes to decorate this table. For instance, I swapped out the stack of cookbooks to coordinate with my color scheme. In the seagrass baskets, I put the spring colored napkins on top where you can see them. Also, I added plenty of white pitchers and white bunnies. In my opinion, white looks so fresh for spring. Well, except when it snows!
For everyday, I usually decorate my kitchen table with a table runner and some placemats but today I have it set up with a blue and white tablecloth.
To keep the table looking fresh and simple for spring I kept the accessories to a minimum.
With a container of pink tulips and some white candlesticks, my centerpiece was complete.
To bring in just a little more pink, I tied pink gingham ribbon around each white napkin. In order to keep it very simple, I used faux green stems instead of live greenery.
Overall, this tablescape is simple enough for everyday yet could work for a casual brunch or even Mother’s Day.
And here’s one last blue and white vignette before I finish the tour…
Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoyed my spring home tour!
