October Recap (Decorating, Shopping and More!)
Happy weekend and welcome to the Saturday Spotlight! This week, I’m sharing an October recap of things that didn’t make the blog during the month. From fall decorating ideas to shopping and more, I hope to inspire you with my look back at the month of October!

October Recap – Late Fall Decorating:
An everyday centerpiece for fall…
In my home, I usually keep my fall decor very simple. For instance, I added fall color to my dining room with some golden stems in my silver urn. Since we don’t use my dining room everyday, it’s kind of waste to use fresh flowers. No one would see them! Also, this fall I styled the table with my new brown patterned table runner. October Recap – Finding Inspiration:
A visit to Pottery Barn…
Sometimes, just a walk through a home decor store can give you ideas for seasonal decorating. Since Pottery Barn is always changing their displays, it’s a great place to get fresh ideas. During one of my October visits, I spotted this fabulous woven pendant. I love the texture and they way it pulls together the cozy couch display below it.
A great find for custom-look window treatments…
If you want to add a cozy layer to your windows, I’ve recently discovered these popular curtains! Not only do they come in a bunch of styles and lengths, but they also sell books of sample fabrics. I ordered the Isabella and Liz samples and now I want to recover every window…haha.
October Recap – Recent Read:
In October I read another book from one of my favorite authors…
Lately, I’ve become of huge fan of Taylor Jenkins Reid. In October, I bought one of her older novels, One True Loves and adored it! It’s the kind of book that makes you think about past relationships and falling in love at a young age. In the story, the main character’s husband goes missing and is thought to be dead. After time, she eventually moves on with her life only to have her missing husband show up before she is about to marry someone else. Yes, it sounds like a typical premise for a silly romance novel but the story was well written with believable characters. I found myself going back and forth between who I wanted her to choose while wondering how I’d handle the situation. Great story!
October Recap – Delicious Enchilada Recipe:
In October, I tried a new recipe…
Each month, I try to make something new for dinner. For October, I made this recipe for beef enchiladas and they turned out great! Too bad I only have an in-process picture to show you…haha. If you follow the link to the recipe, you’ll see more professional photos, I promise!
