January Home Decor – Simple Color Schemes:

Black and white feels fresh after Christmas…

Before we renovated our kitchen, I used to decorate my baker’s rack with black and white accessories after Christmas.  After living with more vibrant holiday colors, it was nice to tone things down. With this neutral color scheme, it worked from January thru spring!

Mix in some blue and white with your winter decor…

Besides neutrals, a little color can be pretty in the winter months too.  Since blue and white porcelain is classic, you can mix your pieces in with a little greenery and white candles for a cozy winter vibe.

Winter ideas from home decor bloggers…

Last week, I participated in a Cozy Winter Homes Blog Hop where I shared my Simple Ideas to Create a Cozy Winter Home!  Like most of us, I sometimes struggle with decorating ideas in January.  After all, it’s no longer Christmas yet it’s really too early to decorate for spring.  (Not that I don’t want to!)  Luckily, joining a blog hop forces me to get creative.  Plus, I get to see what all the other home decor bloggers are doing in their homes.
