Hello October 2021! (Saturday Spotlight)

Hello October 2021 and welcome to the Saturday Spotlight!  Yes, I know it’s no longer Saturday but I just returned from a long weekend of college tours throughout the Boston area.  Of course, I was hoping to be there during peak fall foliage season but the leaves were just starting to change.  Oh well…I guess I’ll have to go back!  Anyway, while we’re all in the fall mood, this week I’m highlighting October related goodies…Let’s get started…

October Decorating Inspiration:

Freshen up your outdoor spaces…

Once October arrives, I usually start adding seasonal touches to my outdoor spaces.  Since I’m a little behind this year, I’ll show you how I decorated my patio for fall last year…

Say Hello to October with a Fun New Tradition:

Who says Halloween is just for kids?…

In the days leading up to Halloween, get the whole neighborhood involved with a “spook basket” tradition.  As you can see from a previous year’s basket, it’s fun for the kids – and adults!

You can get really creative with what you include in your basket or gift bag.  Any excuse to shop right?

Speaking of shopping…

October Shopping Ideas:

If you’re looking for gift ideas for someone with an October birthday, you could always choose something with a birthstone.  In case you’re wondering, the October birthstone is an opal.

This opal necklace is a perfect October gift and I love the unique shape.

*While we’re talking about gifts, you might want to start thinking about holiday shopping.  Yes, I know it’s only October but apparently, there’s a supply chain problem these days.  Who knows what things will be like in a month or two…

Back to October shopping ideas…

How cute is this ghost serving platter?!!  Kind of makes me want to throw a Halloween party!

After all, do we even celebrate any other October holidays in the USA?  Sure, there’s Columbus Day…though I can’t say I’ve ever attended a Columbus Day party!

Not only is the ghost serving platter adorable, but these mugs are so cute too!

Plus, they’d make a cute addition to a “spook basket” like I mentioned above!

Sending you hugs and off to pin, CoCo

    1. Thanks Coco! It’s hard to time it perfectly. Luckily, we should have some pretty fall colors here in New Jersey. So, even though I missed New England, I still might be able to enjoy some color! Thanks for stopping by!
