Plan a Mother’s Day celebration…

Spend some time this May to celebrate your friendships…

If you’re like me, you find that months can go by before you can get together with certain friends.  Why not make an extra effort this month to make plans with those friends you don’t see every day.  After all, life is too short…

May is a great month to see a Broadway show…

Speaking of getting together with friends, last week we had our annual girls’ day in New York.  This year, we saw Moulin Rouge on Broadway – and it was fabulous.  For some reason, I didn’t even know Boy George was in the cast until we got there…such a nice surprise!  Then, since we were seated next to the stage, the security guard told us we could take pictures during the last moments of the show!  If you’re thinking about attending a Broadway show, this one was very entertaining!

May is the perfect month for a trip with friends…

Speaking of getting together with friends, why not plan a girls’ vacation?  If you’re looking for ideas, some of my favorite getaways have included Charleston, SC and Martha’s Vineyard.  In fact, every time the Kentucky Derby rolls around, I think about what a great time we had at a Kentucky Derby party on that Martha’s Vineyard trip!

During the month of May, attend a garden tour in your area…

Since “April showers bring May flowers”, it’s a great time to visit some gardens for inspiration.  One year, I attended a seaside garden tour and came home with so many great ideas!  In May, look for peonies and lilacs to start blooming!

This May, swing by your favorite store for some decorating inspiration…

If your home needs some freshening up for the warmer months, consider adding some coastal decor.  On a recent trip to Pottery Barn, I found so many pretty pieces to add to my list.  Hmmm…maybe I should hint around to my family for Mother’s Day!

Decorate your home with a new purchase this May…

Recently, I purchased these gorgeous brass finished candle holders and I’m loving them!  Not only do they enhance my latest spring vignette but they look just like this more expensive set!  Always nice to get a good deal!
