September Vibes (Decorating & Ideas for the Month)
Happy weekend and welcome to the Saturday Spotlight where I share weekly inspiration! As we head into the early weeks of September, I’ve noticed the days are getting cooler and a little crisper where I live in the northeast. Seriously, after the super hot summer we had, I love being able to sleep with the windows open again! Already, it’s starting to feel like fall. Today, I’m sharing some simple decorating ideas and shopping finds that are giving off September vibes!

September Vibes – Home Decorating Ideas:
Start decorating your kitchen for fall…
Since you probably spend most of your time in the kitchen, it’s a great place to add some fall vibes. To keep it simple, add some seasonal items to your countertop, light a spice scented candle or just bring out the autumn themed kitchen towels. Decorate for apple season…
Here in the northeast, apple picking season runs from early September to mid-October. To celebrate the season, bring some apples into your home decor. For some ideas, read – Decorating with Apples.
September Vibes – Fall Road Trip Idea:
Plan a fall foliage trip to New England…
Depending on where you travel in New England, peak foliage season can be anywhere from late September through mid-October. From the foliage reports I’ve seen so far, it looks like Vermont is due for a colorful season…so start planning a visit! September Vibes – Peaceful Mornings:
While it’s still warm, enjoy some September mornings outdoors…
If you’re kids are off to school and you have some time to yourself, spend it outdoors. Lately, I’ve started sipping my morning tea on the patio and it’s so relaxing! In the coming months, these spaces will be covered with snow…ugh.
For now, it’s still hydrangea season around here! This year, my hydrangea bushes have been bursting with blooms! I guess we had the perfect amount of rain this summer.
September Breezes:
This September, enjoy open window season!..
In our family, our allergies tend to flare up in the early spring…but not fall! So, in September, we’re free to open the windows as much as possible…and we do!
September Reading and Watching:
Start a new book and TV series to kick off the new season…
Technically, the first day of fall arrives on September 22nd so there’s still time to add this Nantucket based mystery to your beach reading list. Either way, for an entertaining summer or fall book, I recommend The Perfect Couple by Elin Hilderbrand! Last week, I finished reading it and this week I started watching the first episode of the Nexflix series! So good!
September Vibes Shopping Ideas:
Recently, these early September finds caught my eye…
If it’s too early to decorate with real pumpkins, I’ve been seeing a lot pretty glass ones lately. I think they’re subtle enough to display in September and keep out through the end of fall.
Since September kicks off sweater season, this is the perfect sweater to pick up for fall! If you’re like me, you can never get enough stripes…in clothing and decor!
As new arrivals show up in the stores, table runners like this one have me thinking of creating new fall tablescapes!
