June Wrap Up (Decorating, Shopping and More!)
Happy weekend and welcome to the Saturday Spotlight! Is the temperature insanely hot where you live? It’s been ridiculous here in New Jersey…still better than winter though! This week, I’m sharing things that didn’t make the blog during the month of June. From spring decorating ideas to books, recipes, shopping, and more…here’s my June wrap up!

June Wrap Up – Decorating Inspiration:
A peek inside an Arhaus showroom…
While I usually gravitate toward the timeless charm of a Nancy Meyers or Ralph Lauren inspired home, my recent visit to the Princeton Arhaus showroom made me appreciate a moodier, more modern style. In the store, the rich textures and beautifully layered spaces were full of decorating inspiration…no matter your aesthetic!

While I’m not normally a black-window pane fan, they’re perfect in this space! For a few more photos, see my Instagram post!
A thrift store shopping trip…
In June, I spent a day in the charming river town of Lambertville NJ. And no trip to that town is complete without a stop at The People’s Store Antiques! Here is the booth of one of my favorite venders who refinishes vintage furniture.
Last year, I bought the blue dresser in my foyer from this vendor. Here’s how I’ve styled it recently…
June Wrap Up – Recent Reading:
In June, I read Kristy Woodson Harvey’s latest book…
If you’re ready for a summer beach escape, be sure to pick up Summer State of Mind! Over the years, I’ve read all of her books and I always love her strong female characters…and also the quirky ones! This book was a beautiful story about love, family and new beginnings mixed in with some more serious emotional themes. As always, I recommend you grab this one for your beach bag!
June Wrap Up – Delicious Recipes:
If you’re a cilantro fan, you’ll love this chicken recipe…
In June, I made a cilantro orange chicken recipe from Pinch of Yum! Overall, I stuck to the exact recipe but used white rice instead of yellow and didn’t bother with the skewers. My whole family loved it and they want me to make it again! For the recipe, head over to Pinch of Yum.
And if you’d like a refreshing cocktail, here’s a favorite…
In the summer, there’s nothing like a Malibu Bay Breeze to keep you cool! To make it extra special, we experimented with pouring the liquor and ended up with a pretty layered look. See recipe below…
Malibu Bay Breeze recipe…

- 2 oz Cranberry juice
- 1 oz pineapple juice

June Wrap Up – New Purchases:
A dual purpose pool vacuum…
Recently, our 6-year-old corded pool vacuum stopped working so we invested in an Aiper cordless vacuum! Not only does it vacuum but it rises to the surface and skims the top! So far, we’re loving it. And for fun, we tried it as a drink holder…haha!
A pretty serving tray for the 4th of July…
As soon as I spotted this flag serving tray, I immediately ordered it! Isn’t it adorable? It’s from the the Americana line from Rifle Paper Co. and is just so charming! Since it’s melamine, it’s perfect for outdoor entertaining from Memorial Day to the 4th of July…and beyond!
The perfect summer dress…
Normally, I don’t post many fashion photos of myself…but since I kind of matched my foyer, here’s one! I love the large block print and of course the blue background. For my exact dress, you can find it here!
June Wrap Up – Cleaning Tip:
A ten second tip to save a neck tie…
Earlier in June, I dropped my son’s neck tie off at the cleaners to remove an ink mark. The owner of the cleaners told me it might take extra time so he could work on the spot. When I stopped in a week later, they told me they couldn’t find it but would have the owner call me. He never did so I stopped back the next week when the owner was there. After looking in the back room, he finally found the tie after telling me he had been away. So, I paid and left. But as I was placing the tie in my car, I noticed the spot was still there! I ran back in and showed him and then he told me he couldn’t get the stain out… Nice to know after 2 weeks…
So, I called my neighbor (laundry expert extraordinaire) and she told me to try some hairspray on it. At this point, it was worth a try. Per her instructions, I dipped a Q-tip in the hairspray, dabbed it on the tie and literally 10 seconds later, the ink was gone! Needless to say, I’m finding a new dry cleaner!
Who knew it was that easy to get ink out! Do you have any laundry tips to share?
Wrapping up June with a Full Moon:
Apparently, this full moon was called a strawberry moon…
On social media, I’ve seen tons of beautiful photos of the strawberry moon. Here’s how it looked in my backyard. It was a beautiful way to end the month of June!
