Summer Home Decor Ideas – Goodbye May, Hello June:

June is a good month to bring out the coastal decor!

Last year, I set a summer table with coastal accessories and hydrangeas.  Between the soft beachy colors and the casual textures, this table captured the feel of a relaxing June day.  Ahh…summer is almost officially here!

A Summer Home Tour to Say Goodbye May, Hello June:

Yes, bring on summer!  This week, I’ll be joining a group of bloggers for a Summer Home Tour!  All this week, (June 5th thought June 9th), we’ll be sharing our summer decorating ideas to inspire you.  On Tuesday, I’ll take you on a tour of my summer foyer with peeks into nearby rooms.

To give you an idea of what to expect, here’s an overhead view of my foyer.  During this time of year, don’t you just love the way the late afternoon sun streams in?  Thankfully, we still have a few weeks before the longest day of the year!  If you’re like me, you try to cherish every moment of the summer sunlight!  *Update:  You can take the tour now!

If you can’t wait for the summer home tours to begin, here’s my summer tour from last year!

As you can see, I used a lot of coastal blue accessories in my decor last year.  In fact, most years I like to include those colors in my summer decorating!

Celebrate and Decorate for the Upcoming June Holidays:

Start Planning Father’s Day…

With Father’s Day coming up on June 18th, you’re probably looking for ideas…I know I always am!  Here are some simple ways to celebrate Father’s Day.

Whether you’re dining at home or celebrating with some new adventures, maybe you can use some of my ideas!

Decorate for Flag Day…and the 4th of July…

In the month of May, we had Memorial Day to kick off our patriotic decorating.  Now as we head into June, we can keep out all the red, white and blue for Flag Day…and then the 4th of July.  If you’re looking for some simple patriotic ideas for your home, take a look at how I decorated my foyer one year.

By the way, June 12th happens to be National Red Rose Day so it makes even more sense to decorate with those red roses!  Actually, there are two “official” June flowers – Roses and Honeysuckles.  For their meaning and symbolism, read this article.

Shopping Finds to Welcome June:

If you’re shopping for a June birthday gift, consider buying jewelry with a June birthstone.  Since pearls are one of the June birthstones, these pearl hoops are a great find and are perfect for summer!

In case you’re wondering, June actually has three official birthstones – pearl, alexandrite and moonstone.

Say hello to June with a new duvet cover!   With blue and white stripes, this one has a casual, coastal look…which is perfect for the month of June!

Depending on where you live, the temperatures might still be cooler at night so a duvet could make sense.  In New Jersey, the overnight lows are sometimes in the 50s, even on days where the temps are hot during the day!

Speaking of blue and white, here’s an adorable vintage style stoneware planter with a coastal cottage vibe!

Not only are these inexpensive but they come in two sizes too!  A great way to start your June decorating!

Now that I’ve put you in summer mood, here are some more finds to help you say goodbye to May and hello to June!

Hopefully, I’ve inspired you with ideas for the summer months.  Here are a few more June ideas…
