Blue and White Painted Pumpkins (DIY Fall Decor)
Happy Weekend and welcome to the Saturday Spotlight! Have you decorated for Halloween? Usually, I decorate for the fall season and then just sprinkle in a bit of Halloween decorations later in October. That way, I can stretch out most of my fall decor from September through November. Since, I use a lot of blue in my home, today I’m sharing ideas for blue and white painted pumpkins.

Blue and White Painted Pumpkins:
Coordinate with your home decor…
If you normally decorate with blue and white in your home, here are some pumpkin painting ideas to use in your fall decor.
Paint a vertical striped pumpkin (super easy)…
When I decorated my fall dining room, I painted a few (faux) white pumpkins to style my bar cart…and to coordinate with the table setting. For the first pumpkin, I used navy blue acrylic paint to make wide vertical stripes from top to bottom.
Blue and white buffalo check painted pumpkin…
From there, I got more creative and painted a blue and white buffalo check pumpkin. For a detailed tutorial for painted buffalo plaid pumpkins, read – How to Paint a Buffalo Plaid Pumpkin.
Blue and white pumpkin decorated with a paint pen…
For my third blue and white pumpkin, I used a blue paint pen to create a design inspired by a popular Serena and Lily wallpaper. Even though I’m no artist, it was pretty easy for me to recreate the herringbone / feather design. (Just don’t look too close – haha).
If you have some artistic talent, paint a blue and white chinoiserie pumpkin…
Years ago, my friend Carolyn from The Relished Roost blog painted this beautiful pumpkin for me! Each year, I bring it out and include the pumpkin in my fall decor.

For paint projects, I’ve always had good luck with this brand of acrylic paint.

- For an easy navy blue pumpkin painting project, copy these ideas!
- To keep it simple add some polka dots with paint or stick on vinyl circles!
Hopefully, I’ve given you some creative pumpkin painting (and pumpkin decorating) ideas.
Obviously, if blue and white aren’t your favorite colors, you could recreate any of these projects using other paint colors!
