Blue and White Christmas Decor Ideas – Dining Room Tour:
Embracing the navy blue walls…
A few years ago, we changed our wall color from red to navy blue (Sherwin Williams Naval) and I’ve been loving it ever since! At first, I was worried that I’d be limited with decorating options…especially at Christmas. Actually, the opposite is true. You’ll see what I mean if you check out some of the ways I’ve decorated my navy dining room for each season.
Now, let’s take a step inside my dining room to see my Christmas decorating ideas for this year!
This is the view you see from the front door and foyer. In previous years, I’ve placed our Christmas tree in the corner but this year I moved it to the bay window. Originally, I was afraid that the tree would block too much light during the day but it hasn’t made much of a difference. In fact, I love the way you can see the tree and the twinkling Christmas lights from the street now!
For my Christmas color palette this year, I decorated in classic blue and white with touches of red. Since I already own a bunch of blue and white porcelain, it was easy to add some Christmas touches to my blue color scheme. Then to integrate more white, I continued the snowflake theme I used in my kitchen and family room this year. When decorating, it’s always appealing to go with a cohesive look from room to room.
While shopping for decorations this Christmas season, I found snowflake ornaments that happened to be the perfect size for the backs of my dining chairs. All I did was tie them on with a classic red ribbon for instant holiday cheer! If you visited my recent home tour, you saw that I hung some of these snowflakes on baskets as well.
It’s amazing how you can instantly dress up a chair with a simple piece of ribbon and an ornament! If you plan to decorate chairs for Christmas, this is an easy and inexpensive idea!
Last year, I decorated the back of these chairs with blue velvet ribbon, mini wreaths and a gold bell. Definitely, a different look but just as festive! If you want to see that home tour, pop over to read – Classic and Cozy Christmas House Tour!
Blue and White Christmas Table Decoration Ideas:
Classic colors for a traditional room…
On my dining room table, I continued the blue and white theme and mixed in some greenery and red ornaments.
Rather than fuss with a flower centerpiece this busy time of year, I simply placed my white Santa in the center of the table. If you have any large Christmas figures or decorations, they can make a great focal point for a holiday table…and you can’t go wrong with a festive Santa!

To keep plenty of white in the mix, I used a white table runner as a base and ran an evergreen garland down the middle. In keeping with the snowflake theme, I scattered some glittery snowflakes around, and lit some candles in my snowflake votive holders. My crystal wine glasses and candle holders add to the icy vibe.

For each place setting, I layered a silver charger, a white plate and a blue and white salad plate.
And to finish the place settings, I wrapped a glittery silver ribbon around each napkin…another icy snowflake reference. Ironically, the design on the silver ribbon actually looks like snowflakes…how convenient!

Of course, glistening candlelight helps to warm up the cold winter vibe. Can you believe these white taper candles are battery operated? If you’re interested, they are awesome and they come in packages of 6!
Blue and White Christmas Decor Ideas – Bar Cart:
Cheers to the holidays!
If you have a bar cart, you know it’s a fun spot to add some holiday decorations. This year, I kept mine simple with a little bit of faux greenery and some more of my red Christmas ornaments.
And because I had to throw in a little snowflake reference, I added one to the bowl!

Christmas Tree in the Dining Room:
If you want Christmas dinner to feel extra special, put a Christmas tree in your dining room!
Between the candles on the table and the twinkling lights on the tree, the whole room feels magical!
As I mentioned earlier, I placed this year’s Christmas tree in the middle of our bay window. Although I loved it in the corner, I think I’ll put it in front of the window from now on!

Once again, I kept with the blue and white theme. I added my mini porcelain ginger jars, various snowflake ornaments, round white ornaments and classic blue ornaments.
Of course, I had to add a snowflake to one more spot – the top of the Christmas tree! All I did was attach another snowflake ornament with some wire and I had an instant tree topper!
I hope you enjoyed the tour of my Christmas dining room all decked out in blue and white!
Wishing you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas!
