April Wrap Up – Decorating Inspiration:
A beautiful Serena and Lily store…
In April, I stopped in the Westport, CT location of Serena and Lily. Just recently, they celebrated their 10 year anniversary in this location – a restored house built in 1889. In this showroom, the architecture was just as impressive as the merchandise displayed.

Each room was impeccably designed with iconic Serena and Lily pieces. Apparently, they switch out their displays several times a year…and that includes the wallpaper!
The historic home made the perfect backdrop for the coastal inspired pieces.
Each room had character and provided the perfect backdrop for the airy and sophisticated style of their furnishings.
During my visit, they were in the process of moving things around so I didn’t take as many photos as I had wished. Well, I guess I need to go back soon! If you have a Serena and Lily near you, do yourself a favor and stop in!
A gorgeous store with coastal preppy vibes…
In April, I also visited one of my favorite stores in Connecticut, Lolli Sutton! As I’ve mentioned in a previous blog post, this home store carries a mixture of new and vintage items…and is SO my style!
From their one of a kind treasures to their new pieces, the store is beautifully styled to feel warm and inviting.
If you love blues and greens with bamboo and woven materials, you could spend all day in this store. On both of my visits, I got caught up admiring the beautiful displays. Like I said, the store is SO my style! If you’re ever in Fairfield, Connecticut, be sure to stop in!
Needless to say, I brought home a few items! You’ll see a couple below…
April Wrap Up – Simple Foyer Refresh:
Styling my shopping finds…
On my trip to Lolli Sutton, I bought the adorable vintage white pot with the ivy below. Yes, the ivy is real…and yes, I hope I can keep it alive with my black-thumb! I also bought the gorgeous etched glass hurricane. One can never have enough hurricanes!
In “Lolly Sutton style”, I mixed blues and greens in my foyer. To me, it feels very classic and fresh for the spring season!
On this shopping trip, I also bought some bamboo cheese knives, a bamboo bottle opener and a couple gifts. If you’re interested, they do sell some merchandise on their website!
April Wrap Up – Outdoor Living:
Hello pool season…
In New Jersey, most people open their pools in May. Not us… Instead, we like to stretch the season as long as we can. By mid-April, our pool was open and ready to go. Of course, it’s been too chilly to swim but we’ve used the hot tub once. Plus, it’s nice to look out at the water while we’re barbecuing. With the contrast of the white flowering trees against the blue water, our backyard becomes such an inviting space this time of year. Now, we’re really in the mood for outdoor entertaining!
April Wrap Up – Recent Reading:
In April, I read a celebrity memoir…
As a longtime 90210 fan, I was excited to read Jennie Garth’s book – I Choose Me. Fair warning though…it’s part memoir, part self-help book. So, if you’re going in expecting a celebrity tell-all, you might feel a little disappointed. That said, I really enjoyed it. Her writing is honest and warm, and she doesn’t shy away from the struggles in her life. What stayed with me most was her refusal to settle. Overall, I found her determination to be inspiring.
Shopping Finds to Wrap Up April:
To get you in a spring mood, here are some shopping finds…
If you’re a hydrangea fan, this adorable mug is a must have! It also comes in a few other flowers!
To display spring plants or flowers, this rustic basket is so charming!
