Steps to Create the Asparagus Vase:

Trim the asparagus spears to your desired height…

For mine, I cut them about an inch taller than the vase.

Arrange the asparagus…

Put a rubber band around the vase. Then slide the asparagus spears between the vase and rubber band and continue around the perimeter.

Cover the rubber band…

On my vase, I wrapped some twine around and tied a knot to hold it in place.  Instead of twine, you could also use a decorative ribbon or bow.

Fill the vase with water and cut your flowers to size…

You could skip this step if you use artificial flowers.  Although, with real asparagus, I think real flowers look more natural.

Arrange your flowers…

Tulips always look great for spring but most flowers would be pretty.  Also, you could put a plate underneath to anchor the arrangement.

*Helpful Tip – Make your arrangement the same day you plan to display it.  Supposedly, fresh asparagus only lasts a few days at room temperature.  (In attempt to prolong mine, I put a little bit of water on the plate…we’ll see if it helps!)  *Update:  My asparagus vase held up well for about 5 days!

Enjoy your asparagus vase centerpiece!

This centerpiece would look pretty on a dining table or any place you want to display a spring bouquet!
