Festive Fair Isle Christmas Ideas for Your Home
Is it just me, or does the cold weather have you craving Fair Isle patterns? There’s just something so warm and cozy about those cute knitted snowflake designs. Not only do I love wearing Fair Isle, but I love decorating with it! Apparently, I’m not the only one who loves the look because I’ve found a bunch of Fair Isle Christmas ideas in the stores this season. Before they sell out, I’ll share my shopping finds and show you how I’ve styled with the fair isle pattern in my home. (Updated for 2023)

Fair Isle Christmas Decorating Ideas:
Each holiday season, I set up a hot chocolate tray with my red Fair Isle Christmas mugs…
Not only does hot chocolate feel extra festive in them, but I use them for my morning tea as well. Unfortunately, my exact mugs are no longer available. Though, I did buy them at Sur La Table if you want to see what new arrivals they have this year. (Plus, I added some more Fair Isle mug ideas at the end of this blog post.)
How to Decorate with Round Trays
Snowflakes and Fair Isle patterns look great on a table too…
This year, I found red dishes with the almost the exact same pattern as my mugs! Of course, I couldn’t resist them so I bought a set of the salad plates. (Unfortunately, World Market discontinued my plates but these plates have a similar vibe and these dishes are cute too!) In a couple weeks, I’ll create a full Christmas table setting. In the meantime, here’s an example of how I styled my new Fair Isle plates!

If you love holiday dishes but don’t want invest in a full set, consider just buying salad plates. Then layer the decorative plates with plain white ones for a whole new look without spending a ton. Yeah, I do it all the time!
Add a Christmas touch to a bedroom with a fair isle throw…
When decorating with Fair Isle patterns, a little goes a long way. In my son’s room, I added a red Fair Isle throw blanket for instant Christmas cheer!
Years ago, I bought that Fair Isle blanket at Crate and Barrel but I found a similar blanket that’s available now.
Even Santa likes to wear a Fair Isle Christmas sweater…
And a stove mantel (or fireplace mantel) is a great place to display him!
