A Peek Inside a New Homesense Store!

Now that the kids are back to school, I had some time yesterday to check out the new Homesense store that just opened this week in East Hanover, New Jersey!  Join me for a tour!

A Peek Inside a New Homesense Store

If you don’t know already, Homesense is part of the TJ Maxx/Homegoods company so I knew I was in for a treat!

Lamp section of Homesense

New Homesense Store – Huge Lamp Department:

When I walked in, I was immediately drawn to the lamp section.  They had so many beautiful ones on display!

As you can see, the section is HUGE!  Not only do they carry table and floor lamps but they also have a gorgeous selection of chandeliers and pendants!  Even though I don’t need any lamps right now, I was tempted to buy one…or two!

Furniture and Lighting in Homesense store

Homesense Furniture:

In the furniture section, they carry larger pieces that you don’t normally see in TJ Maxx or Homegoods – and more pieces.  They had more of everything!

Of course, the store was really crowded so I had a hard time photographing the pieces without getting a bunch of people in the background.  That’s why my photography is so bad…yeah that’s why…lol.

Huge dining chair section in Homesense

Homesense carries a large supply of dining chairs which they display all together.  This is so helpful if you are looking for matching pieces.  For some reason, I always seem to have bad luck in Homegoods.  Inevitably, I will fall in love with one chair but then have to run around to different Homegoods locations to find the match.  From what I saw in the new Homesense store, I shouldn’t have a problem!

Dishes and Accessories:

In this location, they also had a huge selection of dishes!  I couldn’t think straight because of the crowds but I plan on coming back to dig through these shelves soon!

Entertaining section of Homesense

Just like Homegoods, Homesense has a section packed with all kinds of fun entertaining pieces.

I also stumbled upon a great book section with one of our favorite blogger books displayed up front!

Storage and Baskets at Homesense

Organization and Storage:

Their storage and basket department was loaded with all kinds of cute pieces, many different things than you would see in the regular Homegoods stores.

Rug Emporium

Homesense Rug Emporium:

Probably my favorite department was the rug section or “Rug Emporium” as they call it.  What a variety with racks and racks of gorgeous rugs in several sizes…

Rug shopping at Homesense

For awhile, I have been searching for a new family room rug so I was drawn to the ones with the tans and grays.  So pretty!

I loved the fun tribal rug which was so soft too!

It was nice to see big brands like this Karastan.  I love the blues and greens in this rug!

Magnolia Rug at Homesense

And I found quite a few rugs in the Magnolia line.  You just know these will sell fast.  I also spotted other great brands like Safavieh too.  The store really had so much to choose from!

I hope you enjoyed a peek inside the new Homesense store!  Once the excitement wears off and the crowds die down a bit, I am going to head back to do some serious shopping!  Speaking of excitement, see who we got to meet at another store opening!

Are any new Homesense stores opening near you?

I’d love for you to follow along so you don’t miss a post!

  1. I am SO envious! Boise has a TJ Maxx (Home Good's wannabe) that's like the outlet mall of Home Goods – really terrible. The only thing one gives up to live in lovely Idaho is decent shopping. Lucky you, Shelley. Enjoy!

  2. Holy Toledo, that is quite a store! We have Marshall's and Home Goods within four miles of my home in the little town of Avon and TJMaxx a few miles further down the road. I checked and there are no Homesense stores in the Indianapolis area. Hopefully it will be a matter of time.

  3. I could spend hours in a store like this but my credit card would break! LOL:) Thanks for sharing with us at #overthemoon link party.

  4. Hi Shelley.. I went to our new store in Mass. last week and took pics for a post. OMG!!! I was in heaven! Hope you have a great week.

  5. That looks like a great store! I enjoyed taking the tour with you. I will have to look up their store online and see if any are planned in my area. I sure hope so! Looks like they have a lot of inventory. My Homegoods is always so crowded and picked over. It would be nice to have another store like this to choose from.

  6. Oh my! This looks like fun! It looks like more of everything. The rugs look amazing. I agree with you I don't often have good luck at Homegoods or TJ Maxx for furniture because they always have just one of everything! I hope we get one near us soon!!

  7. We've had HomeSense in Canada for quite awhile now which I equated to your HomeGoods in the US but the pics you've shown are quite a bit different than our Canadian HomeSense…at least, any of the ones I've been to. Lots of good stuff! Thanks for sharing this.

  8. I love the new Home Sense too. I'm looking forward to going back when it's not so crowded. I went on opening day. What a zoo! I will be featuring this tonight at my Fall into Fall party. Please stop by and pick up an I've Been Featured button. Thanks. http://diybydesign.blogspot.com
