Decorating with Green on a Bar Cart:
Since I don’t officially decorate for St. Patrick’s Day, I just added a few touches of green to some areas such as my bar cart.
For years, these these pretty olive martini glasses have been stored away. What better time to bring them out and decorate my bar cart! A bunch of limes add more green color and are perfect to keep on hand for all those festive cocktails. Speaking of cocktails…(or I should say, “liqueurs”) we can’t forget the Bailey’s Irish Cream. After all, isn’t Bailey’s an “essential” when decorating a bar cart for St. Patrick’s Day? Cheers to that!
On the bottom shelf I added some Perrier bottles and a preserved boxwood for more splashes of green.
Decorating with pops of green makes the bar cart festive for St. Patrick’s Day and can continue to work into the spring season.
Though, the cute little shamrock plant I recently purchased is definitely a nod to St. Patrick’s Day! Hopefully, I can make it last through the spring since I don’t exactly have a “green” thumb! While rummaging through the garage, I found the green and white toile planter which was the perfect size for the plant. It’s always fun when you can shop your home!
Since my bar cart is located in the corner of my dining room, it has become one of my favorite spots to display seasonal decor.
Just to let you know, I bought my bar cart at Pottery Barn but it looks like they no longer carry it. Though, they do have a great selection. Also, I looked around to see if I could find another and this gold bar cart looks similar to mine. If you would rather go with a chrome finish, this simple chrome bar cart is nice and I also like this chrome bar cart.
Simple Ideas for Decorating with Green on a Console Table:
For another area I update seasonally, come take a look at my console table located between the kitchen and family room.
Recently, I added a few faux plants for some touches of green.
Also, I switched around the napkins in the baskets on the bottom shelf. By simply rearranging the green ones to the top, I was able to incorporate a bit more green without being too obvious.
Another easy way to add color is with books. Each season, I like to stack a bunch of cookbooks on the shelf to coordinate with the season or holiday. Since I have a huge collection, it wasn’t difficult to find a few green books to add to the pile. If I had thought of it, I would have asked my mom to borrow her Ireland book to add to my stack. A few years ago, she invited my kids over for a St. Patrick’s craft day using inspiration from her book. Such a nice memory.
But like I said, I don’t officially decorate for St. Patrick’s Day so I keep my decor simple and subtle.
Just “sharin’ o’ the green!”

Thank you, Cindy! You are so sweet. I am definitely craving some green today after the 8 inches of snow we just got last night! Great hopping with you!
Shelley, you and I think alike. We have a round bar cart too. I’m starting to decorate it for a tablescape blog hop. Can’t have a bar cart without limes! Love your pretty green decor throughout. Thanks for leading the way and hopping ahead.
Thanks Carol! Aren’t bar carts fun to decorate? I will have to check yours out. Great hopping with you!
Shelley, you have the right idea including Bailey’s on your festive bar cart. Love all your green accents including pretty green toile planter and the limes. Simple and elegant!
Thanks so much for your sweet comment, Michelle! The Bailey’s was the only alcohol from Ireland we had on hand but I figured it would be perfect. If we were setting up the bar cart for a party, I might buy some kind of Irish beer or something like that. The Irish do love their pubs, don’t they? Thanks again and great hopping with you!
Your house looks great, Shelley. Love your bar cart, btw. Have a great week.
Thanks! It’s amazing how many things you can come up with when you shop the house! Cheers!
