Kitchen Window Sill Decorations for Christmas:
Classic Christmas decorations for a timeless look…
When decorating your kitchen window, create a focal point with garland and hanging Christmas ornaments. (Just to be safe, use shatterproof ornaments).

On the window sill, continue the classic Christmas aesthetic with shiny reindeer, a mini Christmas tree and traditional blue and white ginger jars. (For a Nancy Meyers meets Ralph Lauren Christmas vibe). To see more details (and blue and white) from this Christmas kitchen, read – Classic and Cozy Christmas House Tour.

A collection of Santa mugs are perfect window sill decorations for Christmas…
If you own a cute vintage set of Santa mugs, show them off! Or, if you want to buy a new set, I’ve seen them all over the place in every price range. Recently, I purchased mine from Homegoods and I filled them with boxwood clippings from my yard. You could also fill them with faux greenery, candy canes or mini ornaments.

Nutcrackers add a touch of whimsy to a Christmas window sill…
To make a statement on your kitchen window sill, line up some colorful nutcrackers. With all the natural light, it’s the perfect place to display your collection of these classic figures. Besides being known for the ballet, nutcrackers are also supposed to bring good luck…which we could all use these days!

For an updated Christmas village look, line up a bunch of white ceramic houses…
In recent years, these white houses have become so popular. In fact, I have a huge collection and I’m always finding new ways to display them. To see more ways I’ve styled mine, read – White Ceramic Houses (Why We Love Them). If you have the traditional (and more colorful) Christmas village houses, they would also look pretty on a window sill.

Cozy Window Sill Decorations for Christmas:
Mix different sized pillar candles with greenery along your window sill…
In my window, I went with all white candles but red, gold or even green would look beautiful too!

Even flameless candles give a warm glow on a cold winter evening! Since it gets dark so early, the candles add so much coziness!

Natural and Rustic Look for a Window Sill:
Display Christmas luminaries made from mason jars, cranberries and greenery…
Usually, you can find mason jars in a variety of sizes. Whether you have a deep windowsill or a narrow windowsill like mine, you should be able to find some that work. To create these luminaries, see my tutorial in this cranberry blog post.

Keep your Christmas window sill simple with natural pine cones…
Go for a minimal look with just a few scattered pine cones. Or, layer in some garland to dress them up a bit.

More items to use on your Christmas window sill:
- Mini evergreen trees or bottlebrush trees
- Small nativity set
- A collection of small snow globes
- Garland with pinecones and berries
- Mason jars filled with fairy lights
- Mini Santa or snowman figurines
- Small vases filled with red berry stems or Christmas greens
- Display your Christmas cards

I love the idea of the mugs with greenery since my kitchen window gets enough sun to sustain a small plant or two!
Thanks! Yes, small plants would be cute too! I wish my window sill was deeper so I could add some bigger things…
