Christmas Decorations at Night (My Cozy Lights Tour)
Welcome friends! I hope you had a Merry Christmas and are enjoying the holiday season. I’m so happy you took time out of this busy week to stop by! If you’ve visited my blog before, you know that throughout the month of December, I’ve been sharing my holiday decor. Up to this point, I’ve shown my Christmas home tour and various Christmas decorating ideas. While we’re still feeling the holiday cheer, I thought I’d also share some photos of my Christmas decorations at night!

My Christmas Decorations at Night:
A cozy welcome to my home…
This year, I kept my foyer very simple with a just a few holiday decorations. When you come through the front door, you’re greeted with a festive red candle surrounded by a wreath, some glass ornaments in an apothecary jar and a cozy table lamp. Recently, I purchased the painted dresser so I wanted it to really stand out. Eventually, I’d like to buy a larger mirror in a gold tone…and next year I ‘ll probably cover that with greenery and lights. This year, I added my usual garland to the stairs with plaid bows…but I never had the chance to string lights around the garland.
In previous years, I’ve added a Christmas tree to this space. Here’s how the foyer looked one year with twinkling Christmas tree lights and festive lights on the staircase as well.
Candlelight in the Dining Room…
During the Christmas season, I like to add a little sparkle to my dining room with a few candles on my table and bar cart. At night, I also switch on the china cabinet lights for an extra glow in the room. In previous years, I’ve also added a Christmas tree to my dining room.
Some years, I set the table for the month of December but this year I just set up a simple Christmas centerpiece. A couple months ago, I bought the silver champagne bucket at a thrift store. So far, I’ve decorated it for Thanksgiving and now, Christmas. Such a classic and versatile piece!
Every year, I love decorating my bar cart for Christmas! It’s a great piece to display Christmas decorations at night…or day. With just a couple candles and a mini tree with Christmas lights, this corner of the room glistens!
Christmas decorations at night in the Kitchen…
In December when the sun sets early, the lights come on! Each year, I hang mini wreaths which stand out at night against the lights in my upper cabinets.
Between the cabinet lighting and the twinkling lights on my table, sometimes I don’t even turn on the chandelier.
Although, the chandelier does add an extra cozy glow to the room…
Since I always have leftover cranberries from Thanksgiving, I fill glass hurricanes with them. They make a great base for candles and add to the red Christmas color scheme. In the garland, I like to weave in a string of fairy lights. My exact lights have 8 settings to set a holiday mood for the table. Plus, the wire is green so they blend well with the garland.
From this angle, you can see into my family room with my fireplace decorated for Christmas. If this were a proper tour, I would have built a fire in the fireplace for you! If you’d like to see how I’ve decorated by fireplace in previous years, read – Stone Fireplace Christmas Decorations.
Our traditional Christmas tree with colored lights…
As I mentioned in a recent blog post, we normally buy a real tree for our living room and decorate it with colored lights and family Christmas ornaments. This year, we threw together a last minute trip to Grand Cayman for the week before Christmas…so we just put up one of our artificial trees. Now that we’re home, we can still enjoy the twinkling lights without worrying about dried-out needles becoming a fire hazard! (I think I could get used to not having needles everywhere!)
Normally, I also add lights to my piano garland but this year I forgot…Since it looks basically the same every year, here’s a photo of the piano from last year…
Thanks for touring my Christmas decorations at night!
Hopefully, my decor will keep you feeling the holiday spirit a little longer…
