Backyard Staycation Ideas – A Lounging Area:
Create a resort style retreat in the privacy of your own backyard…
With an umbrella and some lounge chairs you can design a cabana-like spot to relax and unwind. As I mentioned, last year we added a pool and new patio to our backyard. After that huge expense, I wasn’t ready to spend even more money to furnish our outdoor living areas.
In my shopping searches, I came across these beautiful outdoor wicker chaise lounge chairs. They were less expensive (by far) than the high end ones with the same look. Since, I specifically wanted lounge chairs with an aluminum frame, these were perfect. While researching chairs, I’ve noticed some of them were made with steel frames. From what I’ve heard, the steel ones can rust – and that was the last thing I wanted on my brand new patio!
Luckily, we already owned this cantilever umbrella so we set it up in the new spot. After years of use on our old deck, the umbrella is surprisingly still in great shape. Even the solar lights still work. Plus, you can’t beat the price! I’ve seen this type of umbrella for much higher prices that what we paid.

Some added luxury for your backyard escape…
Did you ever notice how some hotels use covers on their lounge chairs? Why not use them on your chairs at home? Believe it or not, my husband had the idea to buy these! Yes, my practical husband who thinks everything is “fine the way it is”! Well, he didn’t need to mention it twice and I was online researching the best ones. Many different websites sell them but several had negative comments about them turning yellow or not washing well. Then I came across these chaise lounge covers and ordered them right away after reading the reviews.
Well, I’m happy to report that the reviews were correct! We love our new lounge chair covers and the bit of luxury they add to our outdoor living area.
We especially love the way the chaise covers hook onto the back of the chair. Of course, this was one of my husband’s requirements. Thankfully, everyone is happy now!
