May Wrap Up – Decorating Inspiration:

Touches of spring in the living room…

During this time of year, I keep my decorating very simple.  Earlier in the month, I swapped out my pillows for my green floral ones in the living room.  Though my favorite way to bring spring into my home is to open the windows!  Here in New Jersey, the mornings and evenings are still cool so we get to enjoy the beautiful breezes!

Recently, I found the cutest pink floral candle holders which helped to add a pop of spring color to my home.  If you’re interested, my exact version is almost sold out but I found similar ones in a variety of colors.

Since my living room doesn’t have any other pink, I moved my floral candle holder to my office shelves where it fits right in…

A visit to the Farmhouse Pottery store…

In May, we spent some time in Vermont.  And no trip to Vermont is complete without a stop in Farmhouse Pottery in iconic Woodstock.

As always, the store was filled their with beautiful handmade dishes and classic pottery pieces.

One of these days, I’d love to take one of their Wheel Workshops but this time, I just enjoyed shopping!  So many pretty things!  To see more from my visit, here’s my Instagram reel.  A few year’s ago, I also wrote a blog post featuring the store at Christmas time.

Of course, I had to bring home a few goodies!

As planned, I used the crock for my fireplace fatwood sticks…

And I added my terracotta pot to my kitchen counter vignette (along with my mini laurel crock from a previous Farmhouse Pottery visit). Let’s see how long I can keep those flowers alive!

May Wrap Up – A College Graduation:

Yes, I mentioned traveling to Vermont in May.  Well, the main reason for my trip was my son’s graduation from the University of Vermont!  What a whirlwind of a weekend…and emotions.  Those four years flew by faster than I could have imagined and my sweet first born has grown in so many ways.  It truly is a bittersweet time for all of us.

May Wrap Up – Recent Reading:

In May,  I read another Kristin Hannah book…

Actually, I haven’t finished her novel, Winter Garden yet!  Since the month of May was super-busy, I didn’t set aside much time for reading.  Plus, the first half of the book was a little slow and I wasn’t even sure if I felt like finishing it.  As I’ve read further, I’m starting to understand why it’s gotten excellent reviews.  (It’s one of her earlier novels so I’m sure her writing has evolved over the years).  Anyway, as soon as I finish it, I’ll update this post!

Shopping Finds to Wrap Up May:

To get you in a late spring / early summer mood, here are some shopping finds…

If you love woven accessories as much as I do, here’s the perfect vessel for displaying spring flowers!

To freshen up your bedroom for the summer, I’m loving this blue and white duvet cover!

If you’re looking for patriotic decor as America’s 250th approaches, here’s a beautiful flag pillow!

Now that Memorial Day has passed, we can officially wear white…and I found the perfect dress!  In fact, I just bought it and absolutely love the fit and how it ties in the back.  (Plus, it’s on sale now!)

  2. Congrats to your son! I LOVE Winter Garden but I do remember the first part of the book not being anywhere near as good as the middle/end.

    1. Thanks Joanne – and good to know about the book. I’m slowly making my way thru it. With the boys home, I’m not setting aside much time for reading!
