For my Colorful and Festive Christmas Table in the kitchen, I went with a fun and casual look.  Between the vibrant red table linens and the cute snowman plates, this table was fun and family friendly.

Colorful Christmas Table Setting – Red and Black:

Bold colors with stripes and plaid…

For this Red and Black Christmas Table I chose red and black to coordinate with my whole house color scheme that year.  When I found the cute “Jingle all the way” plates, I loved the way they pulled everything together.  Plus, the black plates gave a chalkboard vibe which was very popular that year.

Classic Toile for Christmas…

Black and White Christmas Tablescape

When decorating my Christmas Table with Red and Black, I used my black toile tablecloth as the base.  Since the toile is a busy pattern, I kept my table accessories to a minimum.  With simple greenery, red napkins and ornaments, this table setting blended well with my kitchen decorations that year.

Colorful Christmas Table Setting – Black Checks with Red:

When I decorated my Christmas Breakfast Table, I wanted to keep it casual and family friendly.  After all, my kids were younger then.  At that point they just wanted to get through breakfast so they could get back to their Christmas presents!  Though, I did try to make each place setting special with personalized napkin rings.

Colorful Christmas Table Setting with Red Plaid:

After all, you can’t go wrong with plaid at Christmas…

For my Christmas Table with Checks and Plaids. I mixed casual plaids and checks with my fancier china and silver.  With this combination, it made sense to use the dining room.  Plus, at the point, my dining room was painted red…so perfect for a colorful Christmas table setting!

Recap of some simple ways to use color on your Christmas table:

  • Start with a colorful tablecloth
  • Buy colorful Christmas salad plates to stack over your everyday dishes.
  • Add color or pattern with cloth napkins.
  • Add colorful Christmas ornaments to your table.
  • Fill a glass hurricane with cranberries or glass Christmas ornaments.
