Re-Styled Living Room for Fall
This morning, I woke up in one of those moods to rearrange everything. I don’t know if it’s because the kids are back to school or because autumn is approaching. Maybe it’s just because I was getting tired of the same look. After all, my living room has looked the same for awhile.
BEFORE:
I have been thinking of moving the love seat to another room.
So, today I did it!
AFTER:
Basically, I just swapped the love seat with my two Pottery Barn seagrass chairs from the pool table room.
While I was at it, I also moved a few other things around.
To add some fall color I added a few seasonal accessories. (Not sure if the cornucopia is staying in here for now)
Here is another angle…
BEFORE:
Wasn’t the light great that day?!
Here is another angle…
BEFORE:
Now that I see this picture with the red lamp back there, I am thinking I may move it back to this room.
AFTER:
With the seagrass chairs, it really does feel more open.
Also, I like the seagrass against this rug and the wood floor.
On this little table, I changed things around and added more color.
I like the way you can see out the window between the two chairs.
When the loveseat was there, it blocked too much light.
So overall, I think I am happy with the results. Sure, I did start to get a little nervous while I was doing it, but then I remembered I could always change it back!
Which look do you prefer – the restyled living room for fall or the old way?

I love the new look, or coarse the old look was pretty too. I think what I like best about the new look is the "openess" that the two chairs allow for. You have beautiful windows, with a beautiful view that should not be blocked. I say great job!
I think it looks nice both ways.. But being that you have such a beautiful view out your windows, I wouldn't want to block it.
I like the change! I also like that you have a conservatory..reminds me of Clue. 🙂
I like both!I also like your tropical palmettos — every room should have a little or a lot of fresh greens in it.Very "calypso" of you!Your seagrass chairs are wonderful and sit so nicely in front of your arch top bank of windows.:)Nice work!

I'm with the commenter above: I love the fact that you've changed things around. I believe it gives you a new perspective, not only on your house, but on life, to move things around a little! Your house is lovely!

Although your room was already beautiful but changes are always good… two single chairs gives your room a new fresh look… Room is so airy looking and full of natural light…I love it very much, your new follower too…I am sharing a treasure of Hand Embroidery, hope you like to come and see some traditional motifs and stitcheshttp://craftaworld.blogspot.com/LoveFarah
Hi! I just found your blog and so glad I did. I like the before look but I love the after arrangement. It is amazing what a little change can do to update and revive a room. The dark chairs give some weight and ground that side of the room. The whole room is really beautiful. I'll be back to see other changes you might do.——Shannon
