New Granite Countertops and Kitchen Renovation Progress

Well, we’re definitely moving along with our kitchen renovation progress!  Although, I wish I could enjoy it more but the smell from the finished floors is still driving me insane!  At least I can enjoy our new granite countertops!  Yes, they are here!!

New Granite Countertops:

As you may have read in previous posts, I had been struggling with my granite choice for a while.  Since I really wanted marble but decided to be more practical with granite, I searched for something that kind of had a marble look.  It wasn’t easy…but I’m happy with my decision…

White Ice Granite:

For the granite, I chose White Ice.  As you can see, the background is white with black and tan movement throughout.  The tan doesn’t show up very well in these photos but in person it coordinates nicely with my freshly painted Manchester Tan walls.

Here is an evening shot looking in from the dining room.  (Ignore that one cabinet door on the upper left that had to be reordered.)  Our contractors also installed the stainless farm sink when the new granite went in.   It looks like the faucets and dishwasher will be hooked up today.

Also, the glass for the cabinet doors arrived!…

This will be the bar/entertainment area.  When we added lights to these cabinets, we decided to take out the regular cabinet shelves and add glass ones so the light flows all the way down.  (I still have to lower the one shelf in the that looks a little high.)  I can’t wait to start filling up these shelves!

White Ice - New Granite Countertops in the kitchen

And I can’t wait to start cooking in here again!..

Hopefully, we will continue to make as much progress this coming week.  Now that I’m on a roll, I need to pick a back splash, hardware and pendant lighting!  And I haven’t committed to any counter stools either…it never ends.

If you are following along with this renovation, here is the next update of the kitchen.

So, do you like the White Ice for my new granite countertops?

I’d love for you to follow along so you don’t miss a post!

Your kitchen is turning out so beautiful! I love how you chose a darker island to go with your white cabinets…the granite is gorgeous. And the glass in some of the cabinets adds such character! The space is huge! Lori from LL Farm

Hi Shelley. Popped over here today to remind myself what the granite was that you chose for your gorgeous kitchen. We are working on choosing the granite for our new house…in fact I hope to choose it first and then all the paint colors and other decisions like that will be based on the granite. Love the white ice and it's on our list of possibilities. We also want a whitish granite. đŸ˜‰
