Say hello to fall with some simple decorating ideas:
Hang a fall front door wreath…
If you haven’t started decorating for fall, a great place to start is your front door. Even though I haven’t tackled my entire porch yet, I did buy a simple wreath for my front door…
Don’t you love the way this wheat wreath contrasts with my black door? Recently, we freshened up the paint and replaced the old scratched hardware. By going neutral with the wreath, I think I achieved a fresh, clean look for fall. In the past, I’ve decorated my front door with more traditional fall colors, so this is a bit of a change for me.
By the way, I bought my faux wheat wreath at Target but it’s currently sold out. Maybe people are realizing that artificial wreaths seems to hold up a lot better than dried ones on a front door. A few years ago, I had a real problem with a dried wreath. Basically, I’ve gone with faux wreaths ever since!
Say hello fall with simple additions to your decor:
Display some fall vignettes around the house…
When I shared my recent fall home tour, I hadn’t displayed many pumpkins yet. Now that fall has officially arrived, I’ve started adding pumpkins to my vignettes.
Earlier in the week, some friends and I went on a fall shopping trip. That’s where I picked up the velvety pumpkin on the tray above. As much as I love shopping online, it’s always important to support the local businesses as well! If you’re in central New Jersey, be sure to stop by Barn Picks and Stuff! (This link takes you to their Facebook page is you want to have a peek!)
Bring out the white pumpkins to say hello to fall:
Use them to create a fall tablescape…
If you read my blog regularly, you know I love decorating with white pumpkins. I just can’t get enough of them this time of year! Here is one of my fall tablescapes featuring white pumpkins!
Though, as much as I love white pumpkins in the fall, let’s not forget to appreciate orange pumpkins!
Now let’s start the fall with some shopping finds:
As I mentioned above, my exact faux what wreath keeps selling out, but I did find another artificial wheat wreath that would also look great on a black door!
Or you could go with an artificial pampas grass wreath!
After all, pampas grass is so popular this fall!
And if you like my velvety pumpkin, these cute pumpkin pillows come in a couple sizes.

Shelley … I adore this neutral wreath on your black front door. So fresh, clean and classic. And I agree about the faux. Now that fall’s finally arrived, with a drop in temperatures, I’m ready for a change of season on our front porch too. Have a great week! xo
Thanks Juliet! I’m glad you’re finally getting some cooler weather too!
I’m inspired! Today, I bought my first few mums, and some kale plants. My summer plants are still going strong, so I can’t part with them yet!
Thanks Amy! Yes, stretch out those summer plants as long as you can!
