Simple Valentine’s Day Tablescape with Red Roses:
For my tablescape, I started with red roses for my inspiration. After all, most of us associate red roses with Valentine’s Day. Luckily, I found this pretty bouquet for only $12.00 at the grocery store. As Valentine’s Day gets closer, I am sure the prices will go up…you know how that goes!
I’ve had the woven vase in my collection for awhile and thought it added some nice texture to the table.
Texture and Neutral Colors:
In addition to the vase, I mixed in some more natural items like the seagrass chargers and these incredibly cute woven hearts. The natural textures helped tone down the reds from the roses, napkins and placemats.
When decorating with bright colors, I think it’s important to add in some neutrals for balance.
Then again, it is a Valentine’s Day table setting so the red should be the focus. Last year, I decorated for Valentine’s Day using softer colors. It’s always fun to try something different each year!
If you are a regular reader of my blog, you know I like to keep my table settings simple.
That way the unique accessories can really stand out.
Practical can be just as pretty as something more elaborate.
Speaking of practical, you might have noticed my red and white checked curtains in the background. Well, I hung them when I decorated the kitchen for Christmas and I decided to leave them up for awhile. After all, the red works with my Valentine decor!
This is really the only time of year I get to enjoy red in my home ever since we painted our red dining room navy.
Since we have an open concept kitchen family room, I like to keep the same colors throughout the spaces. As you can see, I still have my red and black buffalo check pillows on my sectional from Christmas. I’ll switch those pillow colors after we are done decorating for Valentine’s Day.
But for now, we are going to enjoy all the red!
I hope I gave you some simple ideas to decorate your home for Valentine’s Day. Just a few pops of red can go a long way!
Sources for Valentine’s Day Tablescape:
- Woven hearts
- Red napkins – Homegoods and these red napkins are similar
- White Porcelain plates – Apilco Tradition from Williams Sonoma and these white plates have a similar look for a better price.
- Red and White Place Mats – World Market and these red and white striped ones have a more vintage look.
- Stainless flatware – Caesna Mirror from Crate and Barrel and this is another classic option.
- Red and White checked curtain panels – these are the exact ones I bought (but in the 50 x 96 size)
- Round Woven Place mats/Chargers – these Natural Water Hyacinth Weave ones are very similar to mine.
Once again, thank you to Chloe from Celebrate and Decorate for hosting. The next stop on the tour is PMQ for Two.
