Since we just LOVE mangoes, I thought I would share our favorite mango avocado salsa with you! Although, we call this dish a “salsa”, I guess you could consider it a non-traditional guacamole since it’s avocado based. Either way, everyone who tries this salsa/guacamole loves it!
Mango Avocado Salsa Recipe
- 1 ripe mango (or chopped frozen mango)
- 1 avocado
- 2 Tbs fresh lime juice
- 2 Tbs chopped cilantro
- Dash of salt
- Tortilla Chips “Scoops”
- Begin by chopping up all the ingredients….
Make sure the mango is pretty ripe, otherwise the salsa won’t be sweet enough. In the off-season, I tend to use the frozen mango. (Wegman’s Organic frozen mango is the best I have found anywhere!)
First, try it with about 2 Tablespoons of lime but if you like it more tart, add a little more. Usually, I squeeze on some extra.
Mix all the ingredients together.
And there you have it! Use tortilla chips (“Scoops” if you can find them) and you are good to go!
Luckily, this mango avocado salsa recipe is so easy to make and everyone seems to love it. Even my kids eat it and they don’t even realize it is healthy…well maybe except all the chips!
*Tip – Since avocado turns brown after awhile, try to prepare this recipe right before serving time. If you have to make it several hours in advance, be sure to cover and refrigerate. Also, I found that adding a little extra lime also helps slow down the browning.
