My Ralph Lauren Christmas Dining Room:
Classic plaid and dark wood furnishings…
As you’ve probably noticed, Ralph Lauren Christmas is super popular on social media this year. Since my home decor leans toward traditional, it was easy for me to add the Ralph Lauren aesthetic to my home this season.

In my dining room, the navy blue walls and dark wood furnishings create the perfect moody backdrop for rich reds, plaids and classic holiday textures.
To lean into the Ralph Lauren Christmas aesthetic, I covered my dining table with a red plaid tablecloth and included matching red plaid shades on my chandelier.

On his tables, Ralph Lauren is known for using gold and glass hurricanes with candles. Since I didn’t have any of those, I displayed several white tapered candles down the middle of my table instead. My candlesticks are crystal which Ralph also uses in his spaces. For the centerpiece, I used a faux rose arrangement surrounded by greenery.

Instead of buying plaid shades, I bought plaid fabric and covered plain shades for my latest DIY project. To see my tutorial, read – DIY Plaid Lampshades. Originally, I planned to add greenery to my chandelier but between the shape and the crystals, I decided it looked best with just the shades.

On each place setting, I layered my cream colored Lenox china with a red napkin and a blue willow salad plate. In Ralph Lauren’s designs, you’ll frequently see blue and white porcelain.

To add to the elegant aesthetic, I included my crystal wine glasses and sterling silver flatware.

A festive bar cart for holiday entertaining…
In the corner of my dining room, I decorated my bar cart with classic Ralph Lauren style accessories – blue and white porcelain, red amaryllis flowers and a touch of equestrian style. On the shelves above, I continued the color scheme with blue willow dishes and traditional china.

For a pretty glow in the evening, I added a couple flameless candles. Unfortunately, they look a bit yellow during the day when they’re lit. But you get the idea…

On the other side of the room, I displayed more blue and white porcelain, some Santa figures and my silver champagne bucket filled with greenery.

With the red plaid lampshades, the room takes on a cozy glow – even during the day.

And the sparkle of the Christmas tree adds a touch of timeless elegance to my dining room.

Classic Christmas in the Foyer:
Ralph Lauren inspired touches with a horse statue and plaid…
If you’re familiar with Ralph Lauren’s style, you know that he decorates with equestrian accessories. For an easy update to my existing horse statue, I simply surrounded it with a wreath. When decorating for the holidays, I try to repurpose my everyday items when I can.

On the mirror, I added a plaid bow but I think it needs a little more. Eventually, I’ll add some garland or maybe a wreath. For me, decorating is a process and sometimes I change things around until I get the look I envisioned.

Plaid Touches in the Kitchen:
This year, I decorated my kitchen exactly the same as last year…
Since I just bought the plaid runner last December, I kept my ribbons the same to match the rug. Plus, decorating spaces the same each year means less stress. After all, I only have so much creativity! To see last year’s tour, read – Simple Christmas Touches.

Against the white cabinets, the touches of red stand out…and brighten up a dreary winter day.

And a wreath in the window is another place to add a plaid bow!

My Rustic Christmas Fireplace:
A lighter version of Ralph Lauren Christmas…
After using so much color in the rest of the house, I lightened things up in the family room. Though, I’m not sure if this room would qualify as a Ralph Lauren Christmas style. Then again, Ralph Lauren does decorate in a rustic style in his mountain houses. Plus, my blue rug actually is a Ralph Lauren rug…so there you go!

For my inspiration piece, I started with the snowy painting (a gift and thrift store find from my sister-in-law). From there, I continued with greenery and neutrals to capture the feel of the painting.

When styling my mantel, I tend to keep the same decorating items like the white vase and window pane mirror. Then each season, I swap out the accessories.

To create a new look this year, I bought the white window pane stockings. I love their simplicity and the way they continue the mantel color scheme. Of course, my family might ask where their regular stockings went…but sometimes change is good!
