Patriotic Decor in the Dining Room
Since we are staying close to home for the holiday weekend, I decided to add some patriotic decor to my dining room! After all, I haven’t added any red, or white in there since we painted the room navy last year.
For your convenience, I have provided sources below. Please note that this post contains some affiliate links and I will receive a small commission if you make a purchase after clicking my links (at no additional cost to you!)
Patriotic Table Setting in the Dining Room:
Instead of purchasing new items for the room, I just shopped my house and came up with this table setting. Since I am always looking for reasons to pull out my Blue Willow china, I began with those dishes as my starting point.
Using a red and white checked tablecloth kept the room from looking too formal. Since I didn’t have time to run out for flowers, I simply used a brass hurricane for the centerpiece. On either side, I just added some coral for a coastal touch.
I can never decide if I should light the candles for pictures so I used photos showing both ways. Yes, I am such a decisive person – ha!
As you can see, my china cabinet is filled with more Blue Willow (and apparently a reflection of my arm!)
Although my dining room faces north, I went against all the advice about painting it navy. (The wall color is Sherwin Williams – Naval). Simply adding other colors and accessories really brightens up the room. Plus, at certain times of the day, the light does come streaming through those windows. Don’t you just love all the afternoon sun this time of year? As far as I am concerned, late spring is the best time of the year!
Luckily, I had just purchased a bag of cherries so I filled the bowls with them to add more red.
Patriotic Bar Cart in the Dining Room:
If you read my blog, you know I love decorating my bar cart for the seasons. This time, I just added a little blue and white and some flags for a quick update.
Red, White and Blue Dining Room Decor:
On the other side of the room, I just added a couple more flags to my console table.
No need to go overboard with the patriotic decor!
When you approach my dining room from the foyer, this is the view you see. Now that we are set for Memorial Day, I might just leave this set up for the rest of the patriotic holidays. Between Flag Day and the 4th of July, this decor will definitely keep my home looking festive!
This post is dedicated to all those brave men and women who have given their lives for our country!
