Antigua Lodging Past and Present
If you are like me and follow The Bachelorette each week,
you know that tonight wraps up this season
on the beautiful island of Antigua.
Last week I showed you some photos and links of where the Bachelorette cast stayed on the island. I also mentioned that while I vacationed in Antigua years ago, I stayed at Jumby Bay.
Well, actually before taking the ferry over to to the exclusive island where Jumby is located, we spent the first half of our getaway at the breathtaking Curtain Bluff.

Curtain Bluff is located on the south side of Antigua. It is an all-inclusive resort (which many in Antigua are) and has something for everyone. From their variety of room types to two totally different beaches, you could spend your whole vacation without the need to leave this beautiful resort.
While the exterior of the resort has not changed much over the years,
you will see that rooms have gone through some lovely renovations!
Here is the Junior Suite we stayed in about 10 years ago.
We had an amazing view of the water…
Our room looked out towards the “Surf Beach”
and was so close to the water that the crashing waves
lulled us to sleep each night!
The beautiful beach felt so private.
And gave us the perfect location
to sit and view the sailboats race by
during the Antigua Sailing Week.
If you stay in one of these rooms now,
the view would be the same but the rooms have been beautifully updated:
Now I really want to go back!
But this time I might stay in one of the
Terrace Suites:
How peaceful is that?!!
Anyway, besides the Surf Beach,
Curtain Bluff also has a sleepy Bay Beach
where we spent some lazy afternoons.
The grounds of the hotel were so peaceful.
And we enjoyed many dinners in the lovely
restaurant and lounge area.
Even though Curtain Bluff is an all-inclusive resort,
we rented a car and explored the island a bit.
Here is the view of English Harbour from Shirley Heights.
If I wasn’t 6 weeks pregnant at the time,
I would have enjoyed a cocktail at this famous lookout area.
It was just fun exploring around the island though.
And we did seize the opportunity
to swim with the dolphins!
What a fun experience that was!
I definitely recommend you try it sometime!
Antigua is on my list of places to return.
The beaches and color of the water are breathtaking
and as you can see,
the one of a kind resorts are luxurious.
I would recommend staying in one of the all-inclusives
because some areas of the island are a bit
“rough around the edges” to put it nicely.
Be sure to watch the Bachelorette tonight
on ABC to see the finale
as well as more of the gorgeous island of Antigua.
Will you be watching?
Have you been to Antigua?
