Take Me Away Recap – December 2017

Happy New Year to you!  Did anyone have any fun New Year’s Eve adventures?  Was anyone brave enough to face the frigid temperatures for a memorable night in Times Square?

I wish I could say I did something exciting.  Although, I did make the trip into Times Square many years ago, I spent this year in bed…with the flu.  My younger son and I came down with it on Wednesday so we stayed home all week while my husband and older son headed up to Killington, Vermont to ski.  I wouldn’t have skied in those negative temperatures even if I was feeling 100 percent anyway!  (Those lunatics).  Well as it turns out, my husband didn’t ski because HE came down with the flu as well.  Luckily, it didn’t hit him as hard and luckily he had our friends there to take my son skiing with them!

They had a great time as always.  I just hope everyone else stays healthy!

I am sure many of you traveled to some exciting places over the winter holidays and we are excited to see where you have been!  Be sure to link up at our next Take Me Away Party opening this Thursday at 7:00 pm.  In the meantime, let’s take a look back at the trips you linked up for the December, Take Me Away Party!

  1. Shelley I'm so sorry you and your son, and then husband, had the flu for New Years. I got hit with it on my way home from Vermont in December, no fun at all! We were going to go skiing up there this weekend but it's going to be 17 below!!! That's a little too cold for me!! Wishing you all a healthy and happy year ahead!

  2. Oh I hope you are feeling better!! It is really cold right now here too! This morning the thermometer showed 17 degrees, that that is up from 3 last night.

  3. Shelley, sorry to hear about your sickness. This cold spell is everywhere even here in the deep south. Glad you are better. Maybe there will be other opportunities to ski when it is no so cold. Stay well. Thanks for the feature about our trip to El Salvador.

  4. Shelley, the fflu is particularly brutal this year! Hope everyone in your household is feeling better! Thank you for the fun recap!

  5. Sorry to hear the flu hit you all this year; it seems like everyone is getting struck down. I wouldn't ski when it was as cold as it has been either. In fact, I'm trying to hibernate in the house and dreaming of warm weather trips.
