Mother’s Day Table Setting (in the Dining Room)

Mother’s Day Table Setting Ideas:
Mother’s Day Table Setting in the Dining Room:
In the past, we have hosted our Mother’s Day lunch in the kitchen. This year, I thought it would be nice to eat in the dining room instead. Ever since we painted the dining room navy, I have been looking for excuses to entertain in there!
Casual Table Setting:
Even though we will be eating in the dining room, I didn’t want an overly fussy table. Instead, I kept our Mother’s Day table setting very casual. Using the blue and white block print tablecloth as inspiration, I then added accessories to keep a simple look. Between the textured seagrass place mats and the blue and white striped napkins, I hopefully achieved a relaxed vibe.
Since daisies are a non-fussy and casual flower, I added a couple vases filled with them.
As always, my white plates made an appearance. No need for the more formal china on this casual table.
Since the furniture is a little more formal, the casual table setting provides a nice balance.
I think Rosie approves. (She always likes to be around when I am decorating!)
Bar Cart Styling:
On my corner bar cart, I continued the soft colors and casual feel.
And added some more daisies to a simple white pitcher.
Once again, Rosie is trying to grab all the attention! Maybe she just wants to wish you all a Happy Mother’s Day!
Hopefully, my simple Mother’s Day table setting gave you some ideas to decorate your table!
Cheers to all the wonderful moms!

Beautiful table! I love the navy walls in your dining room. That was a great update!
Thanks, Paula! The walls were red for about 13 or 14 years but I got tired of that look. Now I am loving the navy and the way it goes with all my accessories. Thanks for stopping by!
Lovely, Shelley! Have a wonderful weekend, and give Rosie an ear rub for me.
Awe thanks Carole! Rosie would love that. Enjoy your weekend!

Your table is very pretty and I love the tablecloth very much. I wish it would warm up in NJ so we could plant. Cn you believe this windy spring?
Cindy
Yes, it’s been so windy – and very chilly this morning! Thanks for your sweet comment, Cindy!
This is such a beautiful tablescape, Shelley! I would have never thought to put block print and stripes together but I love it. I’m definitely going to be using that idea this summer. It looks so good mixed with the touches of seagrass. Hope your Mother’s Day is a special one. Hugs, CoCo
Love the casual mixed with the more dressy, Shelley. And the white background block print tablecloth is so pretty; it brightens up the whole room! Have a Happy Moms Day!
