Welcome to Part 2 of a Modern Farmhouse tour! Last week, I shared exterior and first floor photos from the 2019 Philadelphia Magazine’s Design Home in Villanova, Pennsylvania. Today, I’m taking you to the upstairs rooms of this stunning home! Let’s get started…
Philadelphia Magazine’s 2019 Design Home – Modern Farmhouse Tour Part 2:
As I mentioned, last week, I shared the exterior and first floor so be sure to check that out. Today, I’m taking you on a tour of the 2nd floor of the modern farmhouse.
Here we are, back in the two story foyer heading up the dramatic staircase. The hanging sphere lights really make a statement, don’t you think?
Modern Farmhouse Bedrooms, Bathrooms and More:
Speaking of lighting, this bedroom chandelier really sets the tone for the guest room.
And adds even more light to the bright room.
In the bathroom, they continued the blue and gray colors.
For those of us who loved patterned tile, this guest bathroom is perfection. And check out the huge window overlooking the yard.
Another patterned tile covers the floor in the upstairs laundry room. Kind of makes you want to do some laundry, doesn’t it?
When your house is this large, it’s convenient to have a family room on the second floor…
Such a cozy space to lounge with the family.
Speaking of cozy, what boy (or guest) wouldn’t love this relaxing bedroom? A masculine leather headboard and another stylish chandelier add sophistication to this space…
And more masculine touches continue in the bathroom with striped subway tiles.
Who says a girls’ room has to be overly girly? Between the gray shiplap walls and the navy blue velvet beds, this room feels feminine yet mature. Imagine how nice it would feel to step on that rug first thing in the morning!
From there, we head into the blue master bedroom…
A bold painted ceiling is a great way to bring more color into the room. As you can see, the paint finish allows all the light to reflect. Once again, the black pane windows stand out against the light colored walls. Their large size also helps to bring the outside in.
From the modern four poster bed, you get a perfect view of the yard.
From the balcony, you get even a better view of the backyard and pool.
As we step back inside, we head toward the spacious his and her closets – beginning with “his”…
But “her” closet is the star of the show…
Storage everywhere with beautiful white cabinetry and shelving. In this closet, there’s a place for everything.
Not only is this closet well appointed but it’s huge! Yes, there is even a step-down to a lower level.
In addition, there are sections enclosed in glass. Nothing like having your own boutique right at home.
After you recover from viewing the closets, head into the fabulous modern farmhouse master bathroom…
With a black clawfoot tub centered between two windows, this room will stop you in your tracks.
Couldn’t you just stare at it all day? And the artwork makes such an impressive focal point too.
On either side of the tub, matching black vanities with gold plumbing fixtures continue the sophisticated vibe.
On the marble shower bench, they used the same black and white marble from the vanities.
Who else is ready to remodel their bathroom now?!!
In the space over the garage, they carved out another entertaining area…
Because everyone needs a “listening room” for enjoying music!
Between the dark colors and the lounging areas, it definitely has that night club feel.
Apparently, the acoustics were designed for optimum listening pleasure. Ahh, the luxuries…
Well, completes the tour of the second floor!
