Throwback Thursday – Vermont Fall 2008
On this first day of fall, I thought I would share some old photos from one of our many family trips to Vermont.
My boys were practically babies then…
These photos were taken at Billings Farm, a working dairy farm located in Woodstock VT. The whole property was breathtaking and meticulously maintained. I would love to take the boys there again when we head up to Vermont in the next few weeks. I wonder if they will remember playing together in the leaves.
Do you think they will still enjoy climbing the fences to see the animals? Well, since they are 10 and 12 and almost as tall as me now, I would say no. Sadly, they will probably ask to bring along their devices this time.
It just seems like yesterday when something as simple as playing in the leaves was the highlight of their day…sigh…
Time really does fly…
I’m looking forward to enjoying the beautiful Vermont scenery again. If we are lucky, we could be there during peak foliage season this time!
I doubt the boys will be as excited for a hay ride this time around. Maybe I will make them do it anyway!
And while I’m at it, I have to make them pose with the Vermont cow cut-out at the Cabot Cheese store again! They will definitely be taller than the cow this year…
Sorry boys but this is what we do when it’s not ski season! Seriously, where does the time go?
Here are a few other Vermont posts if this has peaked your interest…

SO pretty – it almost makes me get excited about fall!! Have a wonderful weekend, Shelley! xoxo
Gorgeous pics, Shelley! I will definitely put Vermont on my bucket list for this year. Have a great weekend.
Beautiful! I've never been to Vermont and that way northeast, it's definitely on my bucket list!
Oh this makes me want to take a trip up there to see the fall color! I have never been to that area, only some of the big cities of the northeast. Beautiful pics, and I know what you mean about the kids getting older. We are planning a trip to Disney next year, and I know it will be completely different from when we went in the preschool years! Have a great weekend!
Nothing screams Fall to me than a great big pile of woods. You all look like y ou were having so much fun. I hope you enjoy this years fall foliage.
What sweet pictures of your boys, Shelley. Time sure does fly. I have my fingers crossed that there will be some pretty fall colors this year. Have a great weekend!
The Man and I took a Fall Color Bus Tour in 2009, and Woodstock was one of our many stops. We were there on the last tour of the season, and it was getting quite chilly; but the colors were breathtaking. We loved Vermont and all of the other states and stops along the way….super-fun trip! I hope your boys can put down their devices for a little while, anyway!Happy Weekend!Carol
I will see Vermont in the fall one of these days. Woodstock is my favorite town in that state.
I have not been to Vermont but I'd love to!! We did go to Maine one year and we were just blown away with how beautiful it was.
I love Vermont and spend as much time there as I can. My son lives on Montpelier. He has an 80 acre farm that I love. I was hoping to be there for fall foliage, but don't think that will work. Later in October, trees will be done by then. I am not too keen on the winters, however. Bev
