Fall Mantel 2012

I finally got around to updating my mantel today.

The beachy-shell theme wasn’t really working for me on this brisk October day!

I hung a round mirror that has been sitting around here for the past few months.

I worked with the black from the mirror and dove into the typical Halloween black and orange.

By the time I took the pictures, the sun was no longer brightening the room so I really needed to turn on the recessed lighting above.

The lighting made things look even more orange.

This little wooden sign is from my neighborhood “spook basket” from last Halloween.

I hope I get some more fun treats this year!

And here is a shot without the light on.  Maybe I should have taken them all like this!

Oh well…

Who knows if the mantel will stay this way.

Last year, this is what my fall mantel looked like…

It took me three tries to get to this.

See the other two HERE.

And once again, my 2012 mantel…

I think I like the 2011 one better.  Maybe this one will have to grow on me.

So there’s one thing I can cross off my list.

Have you decorated your mantel for fall yet?

  1. Looking very festive, my friend. The round mirror is a fun change, 2011 was beautiful too! Have a great weekend!

  2. I really like both looks, but the new round mirror is beautiful! And, yes, my mantel has been decorated for awhile now. Actually, I'm finished with Fall/Halloween and starting to think about Christmas. I will squeeze in a bit of Thanksgiving before I'm totally finished….lol!

  3. I really like both looks! They are autumnal/seasonal and can go from Fall all the way through Thanksgiving. That's my kind of decorating – do it once and leave it (well, maybe with a few teeny little tweaks here and there) until it's time to change the seasons again. I'm new to this seasonal decorating of mantles and such myself. I didn't realize how much work it is! Great job. Now I'm wondering what you'll come up with for 2013…
