Let’s start with my Easter decorations in the dining room…

Welcome…

Easter Decorations Ideas – Colorful Accessories:

This year, I decided to bring out my blue and white pieces and mix them with some green.

Then I added in some faux pink cherry blossoms for my spring/Easter centerpiece.

Usually, I keep my Easter centerpieces pretty simple.  Last year, I set my Easter table in the kitchen and used tulips for my centerpiece.

On the place settings, I added some cute nests with eggs and set them on my green cabbage leaf plates.  If you’re a fan of those plates, be sure to read the 4 ways I used cabbage leaf plates on my tables.

For spring decorating, I love mixing pink and green.  Plus, the touches of pink coordinate with the cherry blossoms…and the bar cart accessories in the corner.

Each holiday, I decorate my bar cart with seasonal items.  This time, I mixed in a couple bunnies and some more splashes of pink.  If you’re like me, you crave color after a long winter.  Here are 3 more ways I decorated my bar cart for spring.

Easter Decorations – Ideas Using Faux Flowers:

Even my front door got dressed up in a little bit of pink…and some faux tulips.

Door basket and navy dining room

Lately, I’ve been hanging a door basket on the inside of my front door.  Since we don’t use our front door very often, barely anyone gets to see outside of it anyway.  This way, every time I walk down my stairs or through my foyer, I get to see some cheerful flowers.

Plus, in previous springs, birds have made nests on my front door hanging.  Once they lay those eggs, we can’t even open our door anymore…and they make a mess out there.  It’s just easier if I don’t give the birds anything to work with!

In my family room, I added some more artificial flowers.  Actually, I usually go back and forth between real and artificial.  Though I’ll admit, I am liking the faux tulips I’ve found recently!  As you’ve probably noticed, the real ones don’t last very long!

When decorating, you can’t go wrong with a rectangular tray.

Or a round tray for that matter…If you read my blog regularly, you know I frequently decorate with round trays. To see more ideas for Easter tray decorating, read – Creating Easter Vignettes.

On the center of my kitchen island, I like to use a tray to display a simple vignette.  Obviously, this time I went with some simple Easter decorations…eggs, flowers, bunnies…

And speaking of bunnies, this guy always makes an appearance in the spring!

Hopefully, I’ve given you some ideas for Easter decorations in your home!

  7. Your Easter ideas are lovely and I’m totally stealing the little napkin (I think that’s what it is) hanging inside the door basket. It give it so much more character. So cute! I understand about the birds. We’ve always had something hanging outside and each year we have little babies. My kids grew up feeding them boiled eggs. Seems a little cannibalistic I know but they gobbled them up until they got crickets. LOL. Hope you have a wonderful Easter.

    1. Thanks Cindy – yes, that is a napkin. I needed to add a splash of color. Funny story on the birds…Happy Easter!

  8. Shelley, your dining room always makes me swoon. That dark blue is so gorgeous. What a lovely idea to have a door basket inside; it’s so pretty! I spy the little bunny plate, so cute on your bar cart. I’ve had mine for years and it’s out somewhere each Easter. Have a wonderful week and a Happy Easter!

I have never had a bird create a nest in my wreaths, I just get big spiders and webs! lol Happy Easter! I enjoyed your tour!

    1. Thanks Larissa! Yeah, I’ve lost too many wreaths due to those birds… We get spiders and webs on our back door so I can’t win either way! Wishing you a Happy Easter!

  10. What a great post full of spring and Easter goodness! I absolutley love your tablescape and tulip door basket. All the spring vignettes are adorable too!

I know exactly what you mean about the birds. I have to be very careful about anyting I use on the front porch that they can hide in or make nests, so I have had to do less is more on the porch. Hanging the basket inside is a great idea!

Thank you so much for joining the hop. Happy Easter!
