My Favorites of 2019 – A Look Back

Every year, I like to share some of my favorite posts from the previous year.  Although my favorites of 2019 weren’t necessarily the most popular posts of the year, they are a handful of ones I liked for one reason or another.  (You can find the most popular recap here – 10 Most Popular Posts of 2019).

Here are some of my favorites of 2019…

My Favorite Table Setting of 2019:

My Favorites of 2019 - A simple farmhouse style place setting

Farmhouse Christmas Table

While decorating my kitchen for Christmas, I decided to play around with ideas for a table setting.  In my mind, I pictured something simple that I could recreate for our Christmas breakfast.  From there, a farmhouse Christmas table emerged and ended up being my favorite table of the year!  When you click over, you will see how I decorated the rest of the kitchen as well.

My Favorite Vignette of 2019:

My Favorite Vignette of 2019 - white bunny and flowers

Pink Hydrangeas in the Foyer for Spring

It’s no secret that I love spring!  For this vignette, I was inspired by a gorgeous pink hydrangea plant I purchased at the grocery store.  Once I brought the plant home, I knew I had to display it somewhere where we could all enjoy it.  Since Easter was right around the corner, I pulled out a few bunnies and accessories for a simple tabletop vignette in my foyer.  Luckily, the flowers stayed alive for weeks…which is shocking with my black thumb.

My Favorite Tip Post for 2019:

January organization for the new year

5 Things You Can Do Now to Make Next Christmas Easier

Since we all jump into organization mode for the new year, it was easy to pick this as one of my favorites of 2019.  In fact, I am happy to say that I continued some of these ideas already for this year!  Nothing like that new year motivation!

My Favorite Before and After:

My Favorite Makeover from 2019 - Updates needed for boys bathroom makeoverBefore and After: Boys’ Bathroom Makeover

Obviously, I had quite a few things I needed to change in my boys’ bathroom.  As I look at this picture above, I’m reminded why my kids said they were embarrassed to have their friends over!  Luckily, I was able to transform the room on a budget…and now everyone is happy!  (Including my husband who didn’t have to pay for a full remodel!)

My Favorite Travel Post:

Pink and Purple Tulips at a New Jersey Tulip Festival

Largest Tulip Festival on the East Coast

Sure, I can count this as a travel post even though I only drove about an hour away from my home in New Jersey!  Even though I didn’t travel far, I felt like I had flown to Holland to see the tulips.  What an incredible place!

Since we took a big family vacation the previous year, we stayed close to home in 2019.  As always, we just made road trips to Vermont and the Jersey Shore.  Although, I don’t think the kids wanted to go anywhere since this was this year we also put in a new pool and patio!

Hopefully, taking a look at my favorites of 2019 will give you some inspiration for the new year!

And since it’s always fun to reminisce, here are some links to my favorite posts from previous years!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by.  As always, I appreciate your friendship and support throughout the year!

Best wishes for a wonderful 2020!

    1. Thanks, Diane! I understand how you feel…even though I love every season, the long lazy days of summer have my heart! Happy New Year to you!

  2. I love that boys bathroom re-do; it still has me thinking about tackling my boys’ bathroom… I’ve already re-decorated a few times and while I keep thinking there are other rooms that need more pressing changes it would be so easy to tackle in just one weekend!

    1. Thanks Joanne! It took me a long time to get motivated to tackle that room but I am so glad I did it. It’s amazing at what a couple coats of paint can do…You’re right, it can be done in a weekend and would be a great way to start off the new year! Good luck!
