Are you a fan of modern farmhouse style? Well if so, I have a special treat for you… Today, I’m giving you a peek inside the beautiful Farmhouse Pottery Store in Woodstock, Vermont!
Farmhouse Pottery Flagship Store:
Sure, you’re probably familiar with Farmhouse Pottery merchandise but have you ever wondered what it’s like to visit one their retail stores? Currently, there are two stores; one in Vermont and one in New Hampshire. Today, I will take you on a tour inside their flagship store in Woodstock, Vermont…at Christmas time!
Farmhouse Pottery Store at Christmas Time:
Since, I was lucky to be in town during the Christmas season, my recent visit was extra special.
As I entered the store, I was greeted with a gorgeous holiday table decorated down the middle with their enchanting Woodland trees. Although, Farmhouse Pottery is known for their pottery and decorative gifts, they also offer a line of furniture like this farm table surrounded by Windsor chairs.
And if you are stopping in to see the pottery, you can take a peek into the studio just steps away. In addition, the studio offers “wheel workshops”” where you can enroll in a private or group lesson with their master potters. Their couples “clay dates’ look particularly interesting to me and I plan to add one to my Christmas list. After all, how can you not have fun creating a masterpiece together if wine and cheese are involved…ha!
Visiting the store is an experience for all the senses. From the simple but elegant visual displays to the subtle scent of an essential oil candle burning, this is a place to take it all in.
Fortunately, I arrived in the morning when the store was still quiet. Basically, the soft background music and the sound of my footsteps on the hardwood floors were all I could hear. Without distractions, I was able to take my time browsing through the displays and appreciating all the handcrafted pieces.
Throughout the store, beautiful vignettes of pottery and linens were showcased in the brightly lit spaces.
In keeping with the simple style of the merchandise, the Christmas decor was subtle and unassuming.
And they repeated the relaxed ambiance through all the textures and simple color palette.
Although, the merchandise is not exactly inexpensive, you have to appreciate that these are handmade pieces made by local artisans. I felt that my visit to the store was just as much a shopping trip as a stroll through an art gallery.
Sure, you could find mass produced look alike pieces in chain stores but they lack the workmanship and the soul of these Vermont-made classics.
And where else could you find these darling handmade forests?
If you want to start a unique Christmas collection for someone, these would make a perfect gift!
Seconds for Sale:
If you don’t mind some slight imperfections, check out the shelves stacked with seconds. I was pleasantly surprised at the good deals on some of these pieces!
Gift Ideas from Farmhouse Pottery:
Of course, I couldn’t leave the store without bringing home a little something… After all you can’t just take a peek inside Farmhouse Pottery without purchasing something to remember your visit!
Honestly, I had every intention of giving these as gifts until I brought them home.
But since the scent of the clove candle was so irresistible, (even my boys love it). I decided to keep that for myself. And the matches in their cute holder go with the candle…and I need the honey for my tea…and…well – I guess I’ll have to go back and shop some more!
I hope you enjoyed taking a peek inside the Farmhouse Pottery store! If you are ever in the Woodstock, Vermont area, be sure to stop in for yourself!
Also, be sure to check out their website for more information and directions to both of their stores.
