Favorite Hotels – The Harbor View in Martha’s Vineyard

I already shared a recap of last year’s Girls’ Weekend in Martha’s Vineyard and now I will take you around the the main building of my new favorite hotel we stayed in…

The Harbor View Hotel

Just a few steps from the water in the charming town of Edgartown, sits the iconic Harbor View Hotel in Martha’s Vineyard.

I think you will see why I adored this place…

Historic Hotels of America

The Harbor View was built in the late 1800’s and is a member of the Historic Hotels of America.

Historic charm mixed with modern conveniences made this the perfect place to stay for our girls’ weekend.  Seriously, we could have spent the whole time in the lobby and lounge area.

Welcoming Lounge Areas

With it’s casual, coastal vibe, we felt like we were vacationing in our own beachfront cottage.

The kind of cottage you would never want to leave!

As shown above, the “living room” area was the best place to relax with a glass of wine by the fire.

Beautiful Dining

And the Lighthouse Grill was a beautiful spot to have breakfast – or attend a Kentucky Derby Party!

Casual Coastal Decor

So many beautiful coastal touches around the hotel.

And plenty of places to sit and relax.

Isn’t this an adorable farmhouse/coastal chest?  Now I think I need to paint something blue in my house!

This hallway has me thinking of ways to add some grasscloth to my home!  Don’t you just love the texture?

Another pretty coastal style nook.  Love the walls and ceiling.

And if this isn’t the perfect beachy bathroom, I don’t know what is…

Don’t you just love the shiplap on the walls?  The neutral colors and textures work perfectly with the coastal decor.

And then there are these fun walls…

The nautical guest rooms were so cozy with the pretty navy and white stripes and the adorable zip code pillows.  Such a cute idea!

But you just can’t beat the fireplace in the lounge on a chilly evening!

Water Views

I have to go back so I can spend more time sitting on these rocking chairs.  Can you just picture yourself out here with a cup of coffee…or a glass of wine?

Be sure to stop by the Harbor View website for more photos and a peek into the cottages and suites on the property.  The interior design on the Captain’s Cottages was done by Linda Woodrum, the HGTV designer famous for many of the HGTV Dream Houses!  I wish we would see more of her on TV…in fact, she should have her own show.  I have always adored her designs and she does coastal like no other!

Thanks for taking a walk around the Harbor View Hotel with me!  Even though we have other plans for our girls’ trip this year, I would go back to the Harbor View in a second!  Someday…

  5. AHHH So pretty, thank you for the gorgeous tour! We visited MV when I was 7 months pregnant with our first, the hotel looks so much like the one we stayed at. They said our lives will forever be changed after kids and went above and beyond to make it so special for us! It was off season and they upgraded us to a suite and brought us in lobster for dinner since all the restaurants were closed. It was an amazing vacation, one I will never forget, someday I hope we can go back and bring the boys with us 🙂
