How to Clean Tile Grout Without Chemicals
Currently, I’m in the process of buying new tile flooring for my laundry room and bathroom. Since I’m focusing on tile lately, I’ve suddenly started paying attention to how dirty all the grout in our home has become! Let’s just say I’m not proud! During my back and forth trips to the store, I discovered a new way to clean tile grout without chemicals…
First, just take a look at a section of my kitchen floor. Believe me, it even looks worse in person.
Anyway, I was at the tile store yesterday and discovered this new-to-me product:

Anyway, the sales guy must have noticed me looking at the product so he let me try one out at the store. Since, I’m always looking for safer cleaning options, this product appealed to me. Luckily, it seemed to work well so I decided to buy one to try on my own dirty grout.
According to the directions, you just rub it into the grout…(no water or cleaners needed!)
Then, simply vacuum all the blue dust it left behind.
Basically, the grout cleaner kind of acts (and feels) like an eraser.
And there you go…I erased all the stains!
As you can see, it really did a pretty good job!
And for comparison – here is a clean section next to a dirty one…

Seriously, even though I feel like an infomercial – it really does work! Like most of you, I’m always so thrilled to find a product that does what it’s supposed to do. And to top it off, your arms will get a bit of a workout! Yes, it does get a bit tiring rubbing it on the grout but it’s so satisfying to see the results!
So, I just thought I’d share my new way to clean tile grout without chemicals for those of you who are looking for a different approach.
In the past I’ve tried baking soda, toothbrushes and all kinds of gritty cleaners but this method is so easy. One of these days, I might splurge on hiring a professional to clean our grout but for now, I’m happy using this product!

Ok I have tried all sorts of concoctions to no avail in trying to clean my tile. Where do I run to to buy this miracle?From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for your support. I haven't tried this but it looks like it works great. Your grout must not be sealed if you can clean it like this. I think I would seal it so I didn't have to do this again. Just a thought.
Yes, I am definitely sealing the grout when I am finished cleaning it! It has been many years since it has been sealed and I am sure every bit of the original sealer has worn off. We have lived here for 12 years. Also, I just read the back of the package and it does say: "Works on sealed or unsealed, sanded or unsanded grout – any color." Hope that helps! Wow! This is really interesting. That product does work like an eraser that just cleans off the dirt on the grout. Most people are having a hard time having to clean their grout, especially as it takes a lot of work to get them whiter again. I am so glad you were able to clean them out.Dwight Franklin
